I really hope I get to be a manul in my next life. I think maybe I could be happy as a manul.

The image shows four pictures of manuls, also known as Pallas' Cat. Their formal name, 'octolobus manul' translates to 'ugly eared cat', as their ears are small, rounded, and placed toward the sides of their heads rather than the pointed, tall, top-placed ears common to most other felines. Their coats resemble a speckled brown tabby with very thick, dense fur.

They are small, antisocial felines that don't even interact with each other very much unless it's breeding season.

They are native to very cold climates and are susceptible to various physical ailments and issues due to their relative isolation and the limited exposure to diseases and other problems more common to less extreme environments. They are small and they are round, with an extremely thick coat to help protect them from the cold; there is a notable video clip of researchers in Mongolia studying the manul population in which the researcher holds one up and cheerfully declares: "Very fat!" in recognition that their insulating fat layer helps protect them from the environment in which they live. They struggle to survive in warmer climates.

Unlike most cats, the manul has round pupils instead of slitted ones, creating a more human appearance in their expressions, which are often seemingly cartoonish and funny whether they are happy, angry, or just plain lazy.

They are most known to the general internet as the cat that will fluff its tail to set its paws on to protect their paw pads from the cold of the snow.

Someone told me once there are no bad manuls, and I really hope that's true.

Friends, this is how my day is going: googling "why is google's AI so stupid that when I have been searching for help with hot flashes in menopause the first article it recommends focuses on increasing blood flow to the penis I do not have?" Then google's AI absolutely mansplained itself.
