Anyone know good resources for learning #Hawaiian #language (and culture, ideally)? I used Duolingo for Japanese once and it didn't really click with me. Just looping the same 5 vocabulary words for over a week, less than 1 word a day.

Got my insurance back, got the bill paid (by them), only had to buy one medication on my own, not sure it's worth trying to get them to pay the $40 I already did. Glad that crap is over. Gotta catch up on appointments now, had to cancel 3, still one left to get rescheduled.

Finally getting some use of my ring light. I got it to try some modeling. but it's in my office now to keep my lighting ideal for VTubing. It's nice for photography too. Lighting is probably the biggest mistake I see in most amateur photos that isn't poor framing or blurry shots.

Feels like almost everyone is starting to realize they don't have enough housing but nobody's, like, building more housing. No amount of hating foreigners or poor people or your neighbors will ever make a house materialize. Houses must be built, and hate can only destroy.

In practical terms, the following are signs that medication for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is effective. A person may notice themselves:

finishing small or “boring” tasks
waking up and leaving the house on time more regularly
easily recalling details from conversations
remembering details from meetings or work emails
recalling things learned in class that day
finishing small assigned tasks at work
cleaning up after themselves
going to bed on time
finishing homework assignments
avoiding distractions like social media or television while working

[grumpy] my faith in the ACA is lowering by the second I should be covered by medicaid but 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'll try and see what the cost would be for ACA coverage at least. Hopefully that's just slightly less likely to be randomly revoked and all appeals ignored for weeks.

Super unimpressed with traditional social media, bluesky included, as I launch my VTuber. Everything is bots and if you don't pay you don't get views. Advertising exists outside of social media, so...why bother? If social media exists only to drive ads, let it die.

I'm doing better at not spiraling but none of the current meds seem to really be helping at all, and now I have to pay for them since medicaid deliberately fucked up and is dragging their feet. Very unimpressed with...most people in general. But I'm still great, and only getting better. So eh.

Thought the ADHD meds had my sleep back on track, and I am keeping my schedule as close as I can, but two nights with almost no REM sleep in a row now. Not sure the meds are doing anything at all tbh, probably need a higher dose. But no major side effects either.

Turns out a style of #fashion I enjoy is somewhat problematically called 'Jirai Kei' and translated to 'landmine girl'. It tickles me just a bit because it matches Zelda's lethal design but as a woman with mental health struggles I do find it annoying as well.

That rabbit hole led me today to the Olivetti Prodest PC-1's Yamaha V6355D graphics chip: I learned it has a unique 160×200 mode with 16 independently programmable colors - not exposed by the BIOS... On a theoretically CGA-only device. And RetroErik recently produced a DOS TSR to support it !
