Obama used economic sanctions and the threat of war with an allied front to force Iran to negotiate. Trump ripped up that agreement, started a unilateral war before negotiating, and, having lost that war, can’t compel Iran to negotiate, thus allowing them to proceed with building a nuclear arsenal.

How will we know that we have “destroyed their capabilities” without the UN inspections contained in the Obama agreement? Sounds like the formula for an endless war in which we have to bomb them every year to “obliterate” their nuclear program.

A fitting symbol of the Trump presidency is his petulant destruction of the Obama nuclear agreement and then ending up with nothing after starting and losing a war with Iran in a bungled attempt to replace it.

I never believed the public case for WMD had been sufficiently made to justify the invasion. In addition, there was never evidence Saddam had anything to do with 9/11. It seemed obvious at the time that it was cooked up by Cheney and the neo-cons.
