I genuinely mean this. I cannot imagine a more bleak dystopian notion than the idea of all art being turned into slop designed to coddle my exact perceived intentions. The point of literature, film, music, and art is to be exposed to the interior lives of others. Who are these people.

the reason “AI will create so much abundance we will have a utopian society” rhetoric falls so flat is that the people building it will never, ever share their bounty unless it is taken from them and we all know it

When colonization came to call in the US, many folks wrote about america as a pristine Eden whose forest were filled with delights and bounty. This was because indigenous folk (Like mine) built up food forest. Things that were razed and destroyed as a part of racist violence. Colonization is ongoing

To put this in perspective chestnut trees used to be dominant species in the United States. Billions of trees were killed by fungal blight and now fully grown America chestnuts are functionally extinct. There is no getting them back. Ever. A rare 200-tree American chestnut grove in West Virginia may be cleared for data-center development, but the project denies the site is on its land.

Skydance now owns Nick, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and MTV, effectively ending US TV animation as we know it. Countless jobs will be lost, and fewer new shows will be created. An apocalyptic scenario for cartoons, yet it's maybe the 5th-worst thing about the Paramount-WB merger!

CW: Blood . . Some poor soul ended up Spiro’s meal. He and his party were told to not go into the forest beyond the fields. They just weren’t safe. (This is actually a sorta redraw from a piece I did back in 2020(?) I think. Also Procreate blood brushes ftw) #monster #fursona #blood #procreate

Finished piece of a monster character. It has a wolf’s head, five glowing red eyes, four spider legs sprouting from its back, antlers from a stag, a long forked tongue, a very long striped tail, and monstrous claws on its four fingered hands. It also wears a black widow pendant. Its hands/ claws, face, body, chest, and spider legs are covered in blood from some unlucky victim.
