Woke up at 4:30 AM to read the new chapter of @thewanderinginn.bsky.social. Crying as I get out of bed for work. (Mostly because of the story, but also, y'know, work)

Doing a silly Alt Main competition with some friends. We each brought 5 mons and then had an auction for who was getting each of them, with a time penalty for points spent. I decided to go real low for my bids, it'll be interesting to see how that pans out lol

Results of the auction and our tenative plans for each of our Pokemon across Let's Go/SwSh/BDSP/ScVi/PLZA. Total time penalties at the end
eddaket: Cloyster/Clefable/Gyarados/Gogoat/Lopunny (25:15)
gavin: Haunter/Tsareena/Golduck/Venomoth/Pyroar (20:15)
Headbob: Golbat/Galvantula/Pinsir/Medicham/Lucario (27:00)
Spiderc: Aerodactyl/Steelix/Bronzong/Hippowdon/Pidgeot (5:15)
tpat: Blastoise/Hitmonlee/Floatzel/Gardevoir/Houndoom (24:15)

My current writing project is the first one that hasn't required a ton of worldbuilding/outlining/research before I could start. Turns out discovery writing is extremely fun. I might actually be able to stick to my goal of sticking to a single project for an extended amount of time

A 1:39:20 end time for Pokemon Legends ZA Rank F. The run is a 1:38 improvement over the previous PB

I'll be racing @newamber.bsky.social in Pokemon Legends ZA Rank F on Sunday afternoon. It means so much to be able to participate in an event supporting my local communities, and the support from people outside of MN for the event has been nothing short of incredible. Please watch, and thank you

Today’s going to be the biggest protest in MN yet against ICE. It is also the coldest day of the year by a significant margin with windchill going below -30F. I wish my friends and fellow Minnesotans standing up to all this bullshit warmth and safety today.

After going through the AGDQ Photo Album, this is without a doubt my favorite picture (this is completely genuine, I can't stop laughing)

A picture from zypotic's Pokemon Legends ZA run at AGDQ 2026. zypotic, eddaket, and Headbob are visible while Spiderc is completely covered by a monitor

Back home from another amazing AGDQ. Too tired to think of anything specific to say, but love you all and can't wait to see people again here in July for SGDQ

Pokémon incentives are open!! In addition to the typical nicknames, you can bid for the starter that @zypotic.bsky.social will be using!

Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 schedule showing Pokemon Legends Z-A, being run by zypotic at 3:54PM Eastern time. There are three bid wars, for Starter Choice, Starter Nickname and Trainer Name

I never seem to do well with new year's resolutions/goals, but I'd like to get good at a particular speedrun this year. I jump between games so much that I end up just being mediocre at all of them, so I'd like to buckle down and focus on one. This applies to my writing projects as well honestly

If I had a nickel for everytime while GMing Pathfinder that, after questionable positioning from the party's rogue, an aquatic monster dragged him underwater to be eaten while the rest of the party helplessly watched, I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice

I've played ~20 hours across a handful of monthly playtests with some friends while the game was under NDA, and it's a ton of fun. Easily the most I've enjoyed a battle royale game. (I have so many keys if any friends want to check it out)

Spiderc @spiderc.bsky.social · 13/07/2025

Just watched the event recap video, tearing up as usual. Thank you all for such an amazing week. Playing games with friends is probably my favorite thing, so it means so much that no matter which of the almost dozen games I brought to the table over the week, everyone was invested and ready to learn

Been enjoying custom starter runs for BDSP except for the fact that I've been crit by four Ice Fangs in three Wake fights. We had to double check it wasn't a high crit rate move

Treating a writing project as a book instead of a web serial is so nice. It lets me leave a mediocre scene alone with the knowledge that I can go back and fix it later in edits. Compared to before where I would have to deal with it immediately, or else be forced to post it and have it be bad forever

Step 1: Start a new Pathfinder group Step 2: Enjoy playing Step 3: Group members (sometimes me) start canceling because they're busy Step 4: Don't push to continue because I like having free evenings and GMing is work Step 5: Time passes Step 6: Miss playing The cycle repeats

Been working on a new story (original story!!) for a bit over a month. Unfortunately, I'm awful at deciding on what to call things, so both my writing doc and notes are full of <placeholders> instead of names. At this point I think I'm just seeing how long I can keep the bit going

No clue how some stay consistently motivated to write. Just finished off a chapter that I'm really proud of, so I figured I'd maintain that excitement and keep going with the story. Nope. Instead, all my motivation is dead. Opened 4 docs this weekend and couldn't make progress on any of them

Curious if airplane mode or the fact that I'm not running on a release Switch anymore saved more time. (Also Eternatus sucks)

Probably will talk about writing a bit here instead of exclusively speedrunning stuff like I did on Twitter. At any rate, I wrote a bit over 750 words today which I'm taking as a big win. Don't think I've done that much in a day for the better part of a year. Feels good to be getting back into it

A selection of chat reactions to my latest cursed speedrun route. Thanks for hanging out, had a lot of fun as always

020

Spiderc @spiderc.bsky.social · 31/12/2023

Turns out I spent 352 hours speedrunning in 2023, and that's only counting when Livesplit was running. Adding in routing, watching streams, and organizational things, I think it's safe to say that speedrunning (specifically PSR) has been the most important part of my 2023
