It is about to drop 40 degrees in 12 hours here in central Texas. Bring in your pets. Turn off and wrap outdoor faucets. Fill up your cars. Charge external batteries. Fill up water bottles. Do the dishes/have paper plates. Get enough pet food and human food for a few days. TAKE A SHOWER (pro tip).

It's official: NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (which includes Columbia and Weill Cornell) is reinstating its mask requirement for all visitors, staff, and patients.

Because of a significant increase in cases of respiratory illness, including influenza, COVID-19, and RSV, all visitors are REQUIRED to wear well-fitting surgical masks when visiting all patients or when accompanying patients for office visits. Visitors to neonatal ICUs should continue to be offered N95 respirators.
