I hope you all aren’t geting tired of the Tea Dragons, because there’s still quite a few to go! Today’s offering: the Oolong Tea Dragon, a powerful, yet delicate little dragon who can also be quite proper when the situation calls for tradition. #teapainting #teadragons #dragons #watercolor

A slinky red and green dragon with a green fur mane and fluff down the spine is curled around and over the deep blue steaming teacup. Watercolor on tea stained paper.

My child's old school required one of these apps on his computer but the school he goes to now instructed them how to remove those apps and install something that blocks spy programs.

This last week was kind of a wash as I recovered from my kidney stone procedure. Hopefully the week ahead contains more art and energy. Here's "Lost Books", an old digital painting that was turned into a figurine by Unicorn Studio.

Here's "Little Thief", one of the new oil paintings I took to Illuxcon back in October. I made it through my kidney stone surgery/procedure just fine and am recovering, wishing it were really winter and I could at least watch it snow while I sit here and do nothing!

Since quite a few of us in the US are getting a nice cold blast of winter, here's "Winter Soul", a digital painting I made in 2010.

A few years ago I listened to a Podcast called Rabbit Hole, it followed an Amazon warehouse employee radicalized by YT's algorithm auto-playing more & more rightwing content that he listened to while working. What Hank is saying reminded me of it & how they want us all to stay & consume.

That's so odd. On mine I can see it, but some other people's posts are blank. I wonder if Bluesky is having some problems.

I've been trying to paint all day but I'm really tired and the hospital keeps calling me to clear me for surgery on the 6th. I'm not sure if the tiredness is maybe my kidney getting worse or just lousy sleep. If you want to help save my kidney: www.gofundme.com/f/support-ti...

"Gems of Winter", an oil painting from a few years ago now. It seemed appropriate since it is freezing here and I'm starting to decorate for Yule.

I'm guilty of looking for festive cheer in sugary, non-alcoholic drinks from September onward, but even I was disgusted when, whilst waiting for the kettle to finish, a little gremlin in my brain said, "put in an apple cider and a hot cocoa packet." I might need a 12-step program.

A reminder: generative AI is antithetical to the human practice of art. No matter how "good" the result seems, it's a hollow and barren reproduction productsd without care, thought, motivation, or curiosity. You know it's ass - THEY know it's ass. But we're stuck in their sunk cost "reality".

Trans day of remembrance! Remember those who are lost, and remember you're not the last, you're not alone. Lets outlive the hate and spread kindness. ❤️ #transdayofremembrance

Two unicorns rearing up in trans colors, blue, pink, and white. Between them in a shield bearing the transgender flag, topped with a crown like a crest. There are ribbons above and below the image that read: "You are not the last, you are not alone."

Since I posted a Christmas-y one yesterday here's a more autumnal one - "Dumb Supper", an oil painting I made last year depicting the dumb supper practice with some unexpected ghastly guests.

I grew up in an old-world Santa house and ever since the very beginning of my career that's one of my favorite things to paint. Here's "Believe", a digital painting from 2009 that my late friend Marion Z. Skydancer modeled for.

Since the springtime I've felt like I just don't "think" in oils anymore. I don't know how to describe it. I start painting something and halfway through I think, "this should be watercolors." I really don't want to go through re-skilling but I just can't make it click anymore. #artlife

This is such an obvious bill to pass that it's supported by Jim Jordan, @wyden.senate.gov, and everyone in between. It's absolutely bonkers that Schumer won't let it come to a vote, and every single person in NY who works as a journalist or with journalists should be lighting up his switchboard.

On the eve of my 37th birthday I find that my 36th year has taught me to be a better advocate for myself. I like to make birthday resolutions instead of new year resolutions, and I think 37 will be about getting healthy and recovering from the weird crap my body has been through since 33!

Today I'm working on sketches for wintry paintings. At some point I'll have to take a break and bring in firewood for the next few colder days. I'm really ready for winter, if it will ever arrive here in Georgia, and can't wait to move back to Montana. #fantasyart #painting #myart

Samhain Dance! I've painted these 4 furry friends in a Halloween setting before (can you spot the chipmunk?) but never this tiny! They are painted over a Magic: The Gathering card, my 2nd alter of a card. Only 1.5x2 inches in size! Commissioned by a patron. (Don't worry, this is a cheap reprint!)
