I will say I run into a lot of issues with FFXIV of players much further ahead in the game rushing to tell me about/get me to progress to content I have no concept for when I really just kinda wanna go at my own pace and collect shit. please let new players explore

I never expected to grow attached at all to my FFXIV character but I now want nothing but the best for him and his ever growing collection of beasts and pets in his shitty limsa lominsa apartment I could barely partition a bedroom into

A lot of my interests and stuff are like furry-adjacent but I've never really identified very much with the desire to roleplay or be an animal or whatever. I think it really is just that I've always liked monsters having grown up playing Pokémon and RPGs and mascot platformers so much

it's a shame the wider ff7 fandom is toxic as shit because it gives me no outlet to get out all my excess fan energy while I'm in the biggest "8-year-old era special interest rockets back to the top of the special interest list after 23 years" era of my life

Do you remember where you were when the Sector 7 plate fell? I saw it happen from my office... Helplessly watching on in horror at the destruction... Praying my wife and daughter were okay... There was also this weird cat watching outside my window which was... distracting, but I'll never forget...

View from Shinra Middle Manager's office (which shares a bizarre similarity to the office seen in The Stanley Parable), watching the fall of the Sector 7 plate. Cait Sith is also watching from this view outside the window.

I know this is a me problem but I have a hard time liking Persona at all because I'm not in high school anymore and it just feels like a social fantasy not built for me that no amount of stylish presentation can correct.

Even though it was overall a smaller PAX this year, I'm glad I went and it was a lot of fun. Fan spaces are so cool, cosplayers and music and just the vibe of being with passionate people are just something impossible to replicate outside of a fan convention scenario.

Well they announced the one feature I wanted for FF7R with being able to fully customize your party composition so pretty much perfect 10 no notes. I knew logically that had to be the case since Cloud is gonna be absent for so much of it but I'm still super happy to get confirmation.

some of the 7/remake fandom arguments about the nanaki voice occasionally make me feel kind of bad knowing that it's honestly pitchwise not that far from my own natural speaking voice and people can be really shitty about it

Fucking hate this DLSS5 shit and I hate that chuds are using Rebirth to showcase it. This is a game with a clear artistic vision of trying to recreate the look of a 2005 movie and is one of the few AAA experiences not going for hyper gritty realism and people just wanna suck the soul out of it

I used to think I had every emotional disorder in the book in my late teens but most of my emotional instability eased up when I moved on my own and I sort of realized it was more that I had a family environment that generally didn't take me very seriously. I think I internalized a lot of bullshit.

games showcases would be a lot better if at the start of them geoff keighley slipped on a banana peel like in looney tunes and then the show ends immediately and we could just read the cliffnotes

I like that because of the MMO framework in FF14 my character is just constantly being talked up by every NPC and all I can think every time is him bashfully blushing every cutscene going "Oh, stop"
