I wish I could say that my standards for The Legend of Zelda movie are "just look better than the Minecraft movie." ...but they aren't. LOZ is my favorite game series in the world and if the movie adaptation doesn't hold up to the elite standard of the games then I am going to lose it.

[Bonus: This is not a pro or anti post for either Gambit depiction and simply an observation that led a hilarious mental image. A world where Xavier tried getting Remy and failed and then suddenly a new face with similar powers/personality appears 😆]

(Logan is the only one of the main cast who met Taylor Kitsch's Gambit, if memory serves. Memory, however, does not serve him given that he got shot in the face and lost his memory. The concept of this specific switch-up remains hilarious anyway)

I find it hilarious that Marvel went "we need to bring back the 2000s X-Men cast" Then followed it up with "Except Gambit, lets make him that one version that was born in the Void instead. Anyone who might have crossed paths w/ him can just aggressively blink in confusion every time they see him."

I love that Marvel knows that despite having us stare at still images of unmoving chairs for 10ish minutes at a time, some of us are still going to keep the livestream open in our background. They know that the #Marvel fanatics cannot escape the obsession

Running in circles desperately wanting to ramble about Sunrise on the Reaping but unable to because the book JUST CAME OUT so the people in my life haven't read it yet (Gnawing on my enclosure! Let me ramble about my current fixation! I'm ready! Let me in, Coach!)

(No Spoilers here) I didn't do a reread of the OG Hunger Games books (or rewatch the movies) prior to reading Sunrise on the Reaping. That was a MISTAKE. Yeah, I caught 90% of the references, but they absolutely would have been better fresh.

You know how some stories point out specific social/political issues in their own way? This book has an entire lit up runway with a parade and several neon signs pointing at the issues. It's best read after the OG trio & Ballad for full understanding and impact but has obvious messaging either way

I have naturally thick, coarse, curly hair. I've been following care advice for it from my straight-haired friends not realizing that there is a TON more to matainence than "shampoo, condition, pray it curls tame instead of poofy." Now I'm spiraling. I am an adult who needs to learn haircare ahhh

If I had a nickel for every time I was told I WOULD have gotten the job if the grant/government funding didn't get pulled, I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

Last week I (finally) finished Breath of the Wild. Over the weekend, I started Tears of the Kingdom. It turns out that a newer interest in Zelda is my What The Heck World coping mechanism, so that's interesting news to learn about myself.

As always, read (and buy!) banned and diverse books 📚

Picture taken at an angle inside of a bookstore.

The side of the shelf is labeled BANNED BOOKS. While most of the books on the shelf aren't clear by the angle of the picture, there is a display table next to the shelf featuring many copies of The Handmaid's Tale and George Orwell's 1984

"You're acting as a god."

"Am not," he hissed back, a single fist clenching.

She tilted her head and looked at him. "Gods are nothing without their worshipers. It is the power of the human that creates a god. You are being followed while the land crumbles beneath your people."

For a long moment, he was silent as he watched her carefully, mirroring the tilt of her head with his own. "You hear what I hear. You know what I know. Yet you say nothing. How does that make you any better, O Silent One?"

The problem with this is that it is this exact logic that keeps me from getting rid of books I despised the whole way through. My BFF: "Get rid of it!" Me: "Okay but I might like it one day" My Best Friend, who has also read these books: "You will not! It is trash!" So they remain on my shelf

Art between two chameleons talking to each other. The one on the left is multi-colored rainbow (red, orange, yellow, blue, green, and purple) to represent the gay flag. His tail includes the transgender flag (blue, pink, and green) and the intersex flag (yellow with a purple circle). The chameleon on the left is a plain green one.

The Green Chameleon: "Why are you so determined about holding on to hope?"
The Queer/Colorful Chameleon: "Because that's the thing they want to take from us most of all"

It's like everyone forgets. But the lovely thing about living in the age of the internet is that the past doesn't disappear.

Headline Screenshot: "Trump said he's considering banning TikTok to punish China over the coronavirus" dated June 8, 2020

"Executive Order on Addressing the Threat Posed by TikTok" "Infrastructure & Technology" "Issued on August 6, 2020" (Incomplete text of EO that won't fit in Alt Text)

Truth Social Screenshot from @realDonaldTrump (dated March 8, 2023): "Has anybody noticed that everyone wants to go after, and destroy, TIKTOK due to China influence and National Security. When I wanted to disable TIKTOK 3 years ago, I was met with opposition from RINOS to Democrats to everyone else. They actually went to court in an effort to stop me. Now they realize I was right, and have changed their tune. Sadly, I've been right about everything!"
