CNN: “President Trump has approved a nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia that could lead to the kingdom enriching its own fuel for civilian reactors without adopting the “gold standard” of international oversight, according to two US officials and a source familiar with the matter.” What could go wrong?

Doing ab crunches this morning when the Coasters' came on with "Take out the papers and the trash..." opening line of "Yakkety Yak." I had to stop the exercise from laughing at those lyrics. Anyone else remember those songs? "Charlie Brown" "Poison Ivy?" What memories.

When will the @nytimes.com Metropolitan Diary go back to its regular format and stop with the pretentious and boring posts from their friends? If you're an actor, stick with acting, and leave the posts for normal people.

Rather than whine every day about the present administration, why don't the press and other posters do some research and tell us the names of the companies that advertise on Fox News? Hit their pocketbooks instead.

Friends lunching at Picasso's home in the South of France commented on the fact that he had none of his own pictures on the walls. "Why is that Pablo?" they asked. "Don't you like them?" "On the contrary," he replied. "I like them very much. It's just that I can't afford them."

Ideas? I get many notifications on people following me and I figured out that it’s pointless to follow back those who only repost what others have already said. I look for positive thoughts, insights, ideas that are new to me. What do others do that might help me make better decisions?

We learned this morning the Hollywood Hills fire is contained, which means to us my son's apartment was unharmed. We will hear from him today when he can return. We are now watching another fire close to my sister in Claremont.

Having a blast here! 78, happily married, and have a face like an Edsel. And yet every day 5 or more women follow me, often messaging me about how handsome I am! Told me wife she'd better watch her step, what with all these others who are crazy about me. What a place this is.

Last night I was having a martini, and the waitress yelled, "Does anybody know CPR?" I said, "I know the entire alphabet!" We all laughed and laughed, except for one guy.

Every day, no matter how glum you feel, there are many occasions to laugh or smile. They come at you all day, like popcorn popping. Today when one happens, take a few extra seconds to laugh or smile, so that the event takes up a greater volume or percentage of your day. Try it just once. It works.

If I go to the trouble to make breakfast in bed, a simple thank you will do, not all this, "How did you get into my house?"

Think of just one small thing that worked well for you yesterday, or made you smile or be happy. You can use that memory to be happy again today. I call it the Law of Conservation of Happiness. The things that made you happy never go away. Use them today and every day. Why on earth not?

Robert Frost was so captivated by even nature's smallest events that he offers his view in the poem, "The Pasture." a simple deed, just cleaning the pasture spring but he wants us to join him. Here is the first stanza:

The idea of having a happy day all day and every day was inspired by Wordsworth in "Daffodils." On a walk, the poet sees a field of beautiful daffodils and is awed by their beauty. Then on another day he lies on his couch and sees them again. He says...

Every day I follow the advice of Kurt Vonnegut: "And I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, If this isn’t nice, I don’t know what is." I'm happy all the day and now I make it a point to notice it and prolong the good feeling. You can do it too.

Every day I log on here and read a post from some pundit telling me that Trump is a bad guy. I already know that, so why am I here? I want to follow people who have positive insights on life, uplifting ideas, a sense of humor. I'm going to "resift" through those I chose to follow and unload a few.

Bobby Helms came out with his first big hit in the 50's, a song called "You Are My Special Angel." Then he decided he needed a Christmas song, so he came out with "Jingle Bell Rock." He never had a hit after that, and the royalties from that song did him well for the rest of his life.

"Happy the man, and happy he alone, he who can call today his own. He who, secure within, can say 'Tomorrow do thy worst, for I have lived today.'" John Dryden, poet Laureate of England. Imagine taking a verse from Horace in Latin, and then writing this in rhyme. Dryden was cool! Be happy today.

When Coleridge wrote Kubla Khan, his original intention was that it be a long work, like the Ancient Mariner. But he was high on laudanum as he had tuberculosis. He awoke from a dream and wrote the short poem, then put it away and never returned to it. His sister located it many years later.

My daily goal is to help others have a good day. Today I'm a course marshal at the BMW Dallas Marathon. Yelling, cheering, smiling, encouraging the runners, offering best wishes, a great opportunity to help thousands. When I die I want everyone to think, "He helped us play better." Wish me luck.

In Donald Trump's book "Art of the Deal" he raves about one of his teachers, what a great guy he was. Trump went to school a half mile from me at NY Military Academy. One day NYMA came to our school to play us in baseball. They were behind with men on base. Their coach, Trump's hero did this:

If you ask your class to do a small group exercise, and you want to make the best use of workshop time, get rid of that slide that says, "Take 15 minutes..." Almost all of the work gets done in the first 4 minutes. Keep the group moving.

Big part of my morning meditation is "I will help someone else to have a good day today." And it works because it's on my mind all day. If I can help others have a good day, they will feel good and likely help others and one day everyone will have a good day. Courteous, kind. That simple.

My sons are city kids but this week we’re in Millbrook NY, staying with family in the woods. Yesterday they sawed down a tree then into logs. Tomorrow they’re working the log splitter. Never saw them have so much fun. Happy Thanksgiving.

In an apparent attempt to reward retention, Twitter now posts a high number of "notifications" each day, as in "oh somebody liked what I posted." But it isn't! It's just some quote from somebody else they think I ought to read. Give it up.
