Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 03/09/2026hey man you should go check out my blog I just added comments too so you can berate me for my horrible takes spacepickle.co 010
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 03/04/2026Apparently there's a new Bubsy game in the works, and they're calling it Bubsy 4D 010
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026I am once again reminded that I need to explain every little thing I say on here. This guy seems to be mad about wired for being about politics, the subject of the original post eye on the other hand I’m stating that wired is not a tech magazine, and is in fact about politics. 000
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Their Discord seems to be pretty good for finding a crew to run with. 010
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Linux will likely have the same issue. Probably need to mess with gain and EQ and such 000
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026The burning or scanning a CD doesn't bother me too much since those activities are becoming increasingly less needed. Same with cursive, but calling records vinyls drives me insane 000
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026I like shorter games, but not TOO short. I think 20 hours is perfect. I love stuff like Elden Ring but I have so many games I want to try that there's just not enough time in the world. 010
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Jokes on you, I'm a white supremacist who DID read the comics! (this is a joke, I am in fact not a white supremacist and have never read the comics) 010
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026He's the main character of Resident Evil. Seems like an odd choice to be dissing but ok 110
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Also back when most games were $40, that money would be equivalent to like 85 bucks. 000
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026I will say that most folks only had 3-4 games back then. It wouldn't be super crazy for someone to have Mario, Tetris, and Duck Hunt and that would be it. With the same "only buying a few games" mentality you could get way more enjoyment out of stuff like Elden Ring, Terraria, or Factorio. 310
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Was looking in a PS4 Game case and it had an ad for a PS4 pro for $400 USD. That's like $550 adjusted for inflation, but still top tier consoles then were cheaper than base models now. 000
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 27/03/2026works great for me in Firefox on Arch. Pretty awesome. 020
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 26/03/2026The thought process of saying AI is bad for the environment, then literally using AI in a response, then calling someone an idiot when they call you out for it must be studied. The “you must be fun at parties” insult is well worn but seems appropriate in this scenario. It’s truly not that deep. 010
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 25/03/2026Cause the GPU dies can’t effectively dissipate heat through air. Water is really the only thing you can cycle heat away from those densely packed things. To be clear they do use a crap ton of water, just not “kill anything within a 10 mile radius” amounts of water 271
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 25/03/2026I live in Kentucky and have family that farms, haven’t read the article but I imagine this woman wasn’t pulling anywhere near $26 million 200
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 25/03/2026okok that's not actually the rover cost, still they spend $70 million a year just operating it so no doubt the rover itself was just ludicrous 000
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 25/03/2026It also cost them $2.5 billion of our tax dollars. 100
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 25/03/2026Better than me, I would 100% sell my house for 26 million. Could feed a lot of homeless people with that money. 320
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 25/03/202665% of republicans are over 50, most republicans don’t live in the city. I think that alone explains quite a bit about this phenomenon. I think a majority of politically aligned media sucks though. 000
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 25/03/2026Weirdly most historians date Jesus' birth to about 2-3 BC 120
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 25/03/2026interesting. I think it is interesting that they chose Dirt 3 and RE2 though, seem like weird choices to go "oh let's just make sure these two games run pretty well". This obviously suggests some cherrypicking but I'm sure the people that play those games and ones with similar tech are happy. 110
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026I would still prefer this to the bot-infested minefield that Reddit is now. Entire “communities” exist that are effectively bots coming up with preposterous situations that exist just to ragebait people. 002
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026I don’t believe you because at least 4 people on TikTok told me otherwise! 021
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026The market for F2P games is so saturated that a mediocre option just can’t survive if there’s something that’s much better quality. Only the biggest can survive without implementing more aggressive monetization (that players hate) or choosing a different pricing model. 010
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026(By making not a ton of money I mean that Fortnite has like 30 million players a day but only makes like a million dollars a day. That’s still a ton of money but at a scale of a few thousand players like most multiplayer games that’s only like a couple hundred bucks. Napkin math but it makes sense) 110
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026To be fair, it probably didn’t help that the game was almost universally clowned on. But taking on the industry giants that are free and make not a ton of money considering their millions of players seems pretty crazy. 110
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026I think that’s what people missed about Highguard. The game itself wasn’t even that bad, I did play it and it wasn’t for me but it did some things quite well. But I don’t think it was terribly sustainable because it had to break into a market against stuff like Apex or Marvel Rivals. 110
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026Gasoline tanks don’t really explode though. They can and will cause a fire in the right type of crash, but then again so can EV batteries. I blame action movies for spreading this misconception. 010
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026No, I’m talking about the fact that most ICE vehicles have delicate components in the front that in a head-on collision are highly at risk. And to clarify by ICE I mean Internal Combustion Engine 170
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026So it's the US government spying on us instead of the Chinese one then 140
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 24/03/2026wait until you hear about what's under the hood in ICEs 1111

Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 20/03/2026I just got one of these as a keychain lol, great for playing some emulators or maybe Balatro 010
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 18/03/2026Yea, but so is Sony and Microsoft and Steam and Epic and everyone else 100
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 18/03/2026Why is the worst console? It’s just a more powerful and nicer version of the Switch 1. 100
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 18/03/2026OpenDAW.org runs entirely in a browser, I haven’t personally tried it but it should have all the basic functionality you need to do whatever you want.opendaw.orgA new holistic exploration of music creation inside your browseropenDAW is a next-gen web-based digital audio workstation designed to democratize music production. 001
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 10/03/2026Also disagree that singleplayer fps games are dying out. Metal Eden, Superhot, Ultrakill, Cultic, Doom: TDA, Stalker 2, Trepang2, Severed Steel, Cyberpunk (tbf not an fps but you can play it like one), these are all amazing fps games that have come out recently. Most aren't AAA, but they are great. 110
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 10/03/2026I would LOVE a singleplayer Marathon game, but any "offline component" of this one would be terrible. It's not 2003 anymore, multiplayer modes are not a handful of maps added as side content for the main game. Everything in this one is built for the game that it is, transplanting it wouldn't work. 100
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 10/03/2026I do think the game wouldn't work as singleplayer. A different game with the same name, perhaps a similar aesthetic, but to have a coexisting extraction shooter and campaign for this game would result in a really weird and incohesive end product. 100
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 10/03/2026I have played both. The OG was before my time, but I played it before I was aware of this one. In my opinion, the game is extremely good. I understand it has its flaws and is absolutely not for everyone, but it is very fun and well-made. 100
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 09/03/2026that was a fake article lol, this isn't actually happening 000
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 09/03/2026in my opinion it gets better after 3-4 hours once everything "clicks". Perhaps if there's a sale in the future you can give it a second chance. 000
Spacepickle @spacep1ckle.bsky.social · 09/03/2026I absolutely love it. It's not for everyone though, which is what the haters and the supporters both seem to miss. 110
