#dailylisten - 10/02/26 Truck Violence - The weathervane is my body ('26) Another great release from these guys. Definitely gonna see them live the second they come to my area. Think I preferred the intensity of Violence, but I'm an instant fan of this band.

#dailylisten - 10/01/26 Truck Violence - Violence ('24) Amazing album, when it started with 20sec of blast beats I was a bit unsure if I'd enjoy it, but it really blew me away. I haven't listened to noise rock that brings in other genres that much, so the folk elements were really interesting.

#dailylisten - 09/30/26 Tom Tom Club - Tom Tom Club ('81) Not the biggest new-wave fan overall, but pretty good album. Didn't vibe with a few of the songs on the album, but for the most part it was fun.

is2g you can open the wikipedia album for any new wave adjacent album in the 80s and have like a 50% chance of Adrian Belew's name popping up

#dailylisten - 09/29/26 Protomartyr - Hotel Usona ('26) Haven't been too excited with the change in direction the last few albums have gone, but it still has a lot of great moments. Definitely ends a bit stronger than it starts, might be time for a full discog relisten sometime soon.

#dailylisten - 09/28/26 Gilla Band - Pugnello ('26) Didn't realize this dropped last week, so glad to see they're back. Insane album, definitely gonna be in my regular rotation for awhile. Been in the mood for some new noise rock, so glad this didn't disappoint.

#dailylisten - 09/27/26 Russian Circles - Gnosis ('22) ReListen Think this is head and shoulders their best album, even upon relisten for the first time in three years it hits as hard as it did the first time. Fantastic album.

#dailylisten - 09/26/26 Russian Circles - Blood Year ('19) Takes an opposite approach from previous albums, where it starts out more understated while building to the loud raw grooves later in the album. Works really well as an album.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/25/26 Russian Circles - Guidance ('16) Not any standout tracks outside one imo, but the flip side is it's one of the more consistent albums in their discog. Just solid all the way through, it's probably my least favorite so far, but I think that's only due to other album's highs.

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/24/26 Russian Circles - Memorial ('13) ReListen First album I remember hearing from them after a friend shared the title track with Chelsea Wolfe. Very pretty album, esp when compared to their earlier heavy albums. Still a great listen, still not sure why I stopped in 23.

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/23/26 Russian Circles - Empros ('11) Overall enjoyed this, it loses a bit of its steam halfway through, but solid album.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/22/26 Russian Circles - Geneva ('09) These early Russian Circles albums are so much more melodic than I was expecting. Still every bit as heavy and in your face, but a lot of fantastic songs.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/21/26 Russian Circles - Station ('08) Easily my favorite album I have heard from them so far. It doesn't waste a single second of runtime, just a fantastic album.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/20/26 Russian Circles - Enter ('06) Can't believe how strong they came out of the gate with this one. I'm so happy I somehow only listened to two of their albums last year, cause I have so much great music ahead of me if this first is any indication. One of my fav post rock acts.

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/19/26 Adéla - PRIMA ('26) Had been really liking the few songs I've heard my wife playing the last few weeks so decided to check the album out. One of my favorite pop releases so far this year, Boys is such an insane ear worm I can't get the song out of my head.

001

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/18/26 Mount Kimbie - Love What Survives ('17) I love what they're doing instrumentally here, but I don't gel with the majority of the vocals on this. I'm probably gonna dip out of their discog at this point, esp considering I found out I have so much more Russian Circles to hear.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

how the hell did I not realize Russian circles has like seven albums I haven't heard yet

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/17/26 Mount Kimbie - Cold Spring Fault Less Youth ('13) Flat out didn't really care for this direction. Gonna still give the third album an attempt since the song that got me intrigued about them was off that one. Don't really see myself revisiting this.

#dailylisten - 09/16/26 Rhododendron - Ascent Effort ('26) I knew when I first heard Protozoan Battle Hymns they had a lot of promise & just need to mature in their sound. This album is a testament to the work theyve put in over the last 5years. Beautiful at times, dark in others, I love this band.

#dailylisten - 09/15/26 Mount Kimbie - Crooks & Lovers ('10) Dont listen to much dubstep to begin with, so wasnt sure what to expect from an album described as post-dubstep. Ended up enjoying this for the most part, the drums are the most interesting bit musically. Liked the song off 3rd LP I heard

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/14/26 Malcriada - TEROÍA DE CONSPIRACIÓN ('26) This EP feels a bit more focused it's only 11min, but they do much less genre hopping & I think that's for the better. Definitely interested to see what the next LP looks like from them, but I'm definitely a fan of what they're doing

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/14/26 Malcriada - ESTÁ BIEN LLORAR </3 ('25) They dabble in quite a few different styles, overall I think I liked this noise pop vibe a few of the songs had going on. I think they're still a little fresh in terms of songwriting, but they have a lot of promise imo

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/13/26 Caspian - On Circles ('20) I'll be blunt, I didn't like this. The only release from them that I did not enjoy, I hope their new stuff is a bit of a return to form. I was okay with the new style when it was the smaller side of Dusk & Disquiet, but it being a full LP isnt it.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/12/26 Caspian - Dusk & Disquiet ('15) I'll be honest I don't think traditional vocals works with their music. It's only one song, but it's probably my least favorite overall. I like the vocal sound collage they sometimes do, but this didn't work for me. Darkfield is an all timer.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/11/26 Caspian - Waking Season ('12) Had a good time with this, but have a feeling I'll need a few more listens to really settle on it. I think I like it less than the previous two, but there were some really interesting pieces.

001

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/10/26 Caspian - Tertia ('09) A bit more subdued than the debut, but a really pleasant listen. Very serene, I definitely see myself using this during work a lot. Also the day after I start their discog they release a new single for the first time in 6 years, so you're welcome.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/09/26 Caspian - The Four Trees ('07) Fantastic album, been meaning to listen to them for some time now. Almost saw them earlier this year, but found out too late & couldn't get tickets, so was holding off til the show & just forgot. Glad I finally did, can already tell it's for me

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/08/26 Deee-Lite - Dewdrops in the Garden ('94) Not as experimental musically as the previous two albums, but a lot of great songs still present. This band has a lot to like, just a really good turn on and groove band. Definitely worth checking them out.

001

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/07/26 Deee-Lite - Infinity Within ('92) Another really solid album. As a follow-up it's a bit more on the mellow side, but Bernie Worrell is on half the album doing synths, Bootsy & Catfish Collins are all over, and Arrested Development does vocals on a few tracks. Cool album.

#dailylisten - 09/06/26 Deee-Lite - World Clique ('90) Insanely fun album & while Groove is in the Heart is heads and shoulders above the rest, there are a lot of very good songs on here. Just start to finish youre really drawn in to this sound they create. Worth a listen in full for sure.

#dailylisten - 09/05/26 Amyl & the Sniffers - Truth or Consequence (Live at El Coyote) ('26) Good show with a great setlist. Wish they had done a few more rock versions, but the twangy sped up country vibe was very cool. Would love to catch a live show of them.

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/04/26 Chat Pile - Who Loves the Sun ('26) Won't sugar coat it, probably my least favorite release from them. I do like it & it's 100% gonna be in my heavy rotation right now, but it lacks the intensity a bit & that's the main reason I'm drawn to them. A few bangers for sure tho.

#dailylisten - 09/03/26 Gojira - Fortitude ('21) While I do like & appreciate them trying new things I do think there's a missing ferocity that was always lurking beneath the surface of their earlier albums. Still a great album, use of unconventional instruments on a few tracks is cool, good listen

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/02/26 Gojira - Magma ('16) Bounced off this when it first came out, liked it a lot more this time around. Musically it might be my favorite album, but to be honest I don't love the new direction the vocals have taken. I'll see if I warm up to them over the next few albums or not.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

#dailylisten - 09/01/26 Gojira - L'enfant Sauvage ('12) Felt like this was a collection of songs as opposed to an album. There are a lot of very abrupt transitions that throw me off, but I enjoyed every song on here.

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

#dailylisten - 08/31/26 Gojira - The Way of All Flesh ('08) Another great release from them, so far their first four albums have all been fun first listens. The final 17min track was really good and didn't feel overly long.

000

😎Mike😎 @soymuntmachine.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

#dailylisten - 08/30/26 Gojira - The Link ('03) Fantastic album, they've already heavily improved on the drums which were my biggest critic of the first album. Definitely intend on continuing them.

#dailylisten - 08/29/26 Mastodon - Marrow Deep ('26) Bittersweet this being the first album since Brent's departure/subsequent death while also being my favorite first listen of an LP from since Crack the Skye. The guest musicians are all used expertly, & Nick Johnston has really settled in nicely.
