In the name of all that is holy what is wrong with Labour in England? I thought they couldn't surprise me but this is the most batshit idiocy I've ever heard. I'm not sure if they are malicious or just incompetent but I'm not sure it matters at this point.

Labour could and should be doing much more. But the UK’s deep economic malaise can’t be fixed in a period of months Short-termism is a huge problem that results in quick-fixes and silly decisions that will make things even worse (i.e more cuts)

Something I’ve not seen covered is the fact that the recipient of this gas has been Eustream, largest importer of Russian gas into the EU, which is owned by Daniel Kretinsky. If that name sounds familiar it’s because he’s just bought Royal Mail.

An important lesson when designing an organisation. In particular Companies Limited by Shares are limited by the legal system that defines them and all have the same faults and vulnerabilities. They are locusts and we should not be surprised when they consume everything in their path.

Waste! The debate (like much of the mainstream economic commentary) will miss one crucial aspect. Every pound spent by the central government is matched in the non-government sector $ for $ in the US and £ for £ in the UK. Not all waste is equal. A short economic thread 1/5
