I have been Experiencing Things and haven't been able to finish edits on the final chapter of sacrifice fly BUT I pinky promise it's coming super soon :) I miss them :') In the meantime, please accept this offering of Soap being Soap and Ghost being his unnecessarily possessive pet menace!! 💖⚾️💚

“Hi,” Soap said with a little wave.

“Good evening, Mr. MacTavish,” the receptionist replied cheerfully. “How can I help you?” He gave Soap’s Seals gear a thorough once-over. It was impossible to tell if the man’s look contained the normal amount of homoerotic admiration that straight men displayed for their favorite athletes, or if it crossed the line into something actually gay. Either way, Soap knew he could easily charm this guy into breaking one teeny-tiny rule.

“I know we’re not supposed to,” Soap started, with his best sheepish grin, “but I’m always losing my keys. I gotta give one of my buddies an extra, otherwise I’ll bother you constantly this weekend.”

“Oh, it’s no bother at all.” The man was already reaching for the stack of new cards; hook, line, and sinker. “We’re thrilled to have you and your team here, Mr. MacTavish.”

“Soap,” Soap corrected, broadening his smile to full wattage, “and we’re happy to be here.”
Truthfully, he couldn’t say that he felt any type of way about Cincinnati as a city, but it never hurt to keep people on your good side. Especially if he did actually lose his key at some point.
After a few quick beeps, the receptionist reached across the counter to hand Soap the new card, his eyes traveling up and down Soap again. Soap ignored it and reached forward, but before he could make contact, black-gloved fingers snatched it out of mid-air.
“That’s for me,” Ghost intoned in his deepest voice, pressing his bulk against the counter. He tucked the key into a hidden pocket of his jacket.
“Of course, sir,” said the startled receptionist, who now appeared compliant out of fear rather than flattery.
Ghost stalked off without replying, but Soap managed a “thank you!” before being dragged off in Ghost’s wake.
“Now, now,” Soap said soothingly, letting Ghost guide him towards the stairwell. “You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.”
“Don’t like flies,” Ghost muttered. He squeezed Soap’s wrist once, tight, before letting go. “Up.”

Slightly late WIP Wed: The first five sections of the 5+1 #faralex fic are complete! Now for the +1! (Coming this weekend for the "Hey, Sweetheart" event.)

She was strong, but sometimes the weight of her choices ground her down into the dust. Alex understood it in a more distant sense. Years of working alongside ULF members, learning the language, and making a home for himself had given him the same drive to protect. And he would help her carry the weight, whether she wanted it or not.

"Aww, don't give up now, sweetheart."

She half laughed, half groaned. "You're doing it on purpose now."

"Maybe," Alex relented with a grin she couldn't see but could hopefully hear in his tone. "Or maybe I just wanted to say it."

"Alex..."

The silence was heavy but not tense. Things were rarely tense between them these days. They'd gone to war together too many times to be rattled by little things like emotions. And perhaps that was why it was here, in a pitch black room with no way out, that he finally chose to be honest.

"Tell me to stop," Alex said.

I actually have a #WIPWenesday for the #Ghoap Folk Post Meet Ugly Soap trying to make friends (Tattoo Parlor/Bookshop Au with some one-doesn't-know-they're-dating)

"John MacTavish, meet Simon Riley. He owns The Raven's Quill." Right. The bookshop next door. Which means they share this alleyway, which means they'll see each other often. Which means, if Soap wants to keep in everyone's good graces, he'll be the bigger man. He glances at Price and rolls his shoulders and paints on his best smile. "Let's start over then. Call mae 'Soap'."

Simon looks down at Soap's offered hand but makes no move to take it. Instead he simply says, "No." And turns on his heel and walks back up the three little concrete steps and slams the door closed behind him.

Clearly stunned, Price turns and looks at Soap. "I take it you've met?"

Soap can't help but grin. "Aye, sir."

"Well," Price smirks back, "You'll have to tell me about it." He starts back inside.
