It's real easy to get that phasing effect you hear on old Namco Arcade machines (Libble Rabble, Metro Cross, and Mappy for example). Have two channels play the same melody with one slightly off pitch.

Related to this I was kind of thinking of starting a guessing game whenever I'm making a lot of progress on a cover, specifically. Present a snippet of a tracker view with several channels muted and people can guess what the cover is. Example:
