I’m not going to Baltimore this weekend but I am going to Louisville and I need some direction. I weirdly think there’s so many viable teams that I don’t know what’s worth locking in

People acting like heatran isn’t going to be good clearly don’t know their VGC history. “I’d just click earthquake” buddy it won worlds when this thing was on 12 of the teams in top 16

My Garchomp just survived a helping handed overheat from mega pyroar and then it died to life orb earthquake. Genuinely what does this mon do???

I just saw a gyarados try to helping hand a gholdengo. The gyarados was sitrus berry

I’m 3 for 3 now against mega staraptor. I don’t know if the people using it are just that bad or if it’s really not good This thing is such a noob trap

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

I just saw one swap into a neutral dazzling gleam from my floette before it mega evolved and it lost 75% and then failed to kill my incineroar because of the intimidate Fraud

000

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

Also people do realize you can intimidate it before it mega evolves right? I have to know that people know that

000

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

I will not fall for the mega staraptor hype. The more I see people online say it’s broken the less I believe in it Redirection plus a strong fairy move and it’s gone

A mobile release ensured I wouldn’t be able to focus at all today

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

This team felt really fun to play and pretty easy to polite. The worst matchup was rain even though I thought initially that was the best and the actual best was standard Zard Y + mega aero. I fought like three at Indy and won against all of them

000

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

On my Indy team I was running sinistcha but I felt like I was struggling into fake out sneaslers and sneasler in general so I swapped it out for farigiraf. Full disclosure, I’m not sure if farigiraf is good here so if you prefer the healing from sinistcha I think that’s probably fine

100

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

Garchomp is choice scarfed so normally you’d run max/max but I chose to outspend max speed jolly m-aerodactyl by one point which allowed me to use adamant and then put the rest in bulk. It survived a lot of hits that normally would have been OHKOs

100

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

Aegislash was way better than I anticipated. Wide guard shuts down rock slide and heat waves, and close combat does stupid damage. Most of the time when it would get brought to sash my opponent would ignore it and it would sweep through their team cause they thought I’d switch

100

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

Incin is the standard bulky set. At Indy I ran a little speed on him to out speed perish trap incin and prevent them from using parting shot but I literally never ran into it.

100

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

Floette is the main damage dealer and if positioned well can set up and carry games. It’s ev’d to survive 32 adamant sneasler fire claw 100% of the time. The rest in speed in offense

100

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

Volcarona is mostly max bulk and deals with sneasler and kingambit really well. At Indy it burned a lot of them thanks to redirection and if they were the iron head variant really struggled into it

100

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

Since we’re almost done with reg M-A, I figured I’d share the modified version of the team that I brought to Indy that resulted in a 9-3 pokepast.es/bed1664ce69e... Volcarona is great in this format even with all the rock slides

“Look at me I’m charizard and I get to click a 100 bp move and still do 50% to most mons regardless of the weather” I run volcarona and frequently bring it against mega aerodactly with no problem

000

Chris @soulcontract.bsky.social · 15/06/2026

People aren’t ready to hear this but nerfing rock slide won’t fix the format but instead make charizard even stronger now than it already is. Instead take away weather ball and make it commit to overheat like an honest mon

Went 6-1 for the day before I dropped out. I have plans with friends and family tomorrow so I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish it out with everyone else Still really proud of how I did regardless. Next up is Indianapolis

I want to say this before the game comes out: Y’all are sleeping on mega delphox. Gholdengo does basically the same stuff expect mega delphox wins against ursaluna and gholdengo is regularly a top tier mon I will not be swayed otherwise
