Median is expressly a measure of a distribution. Don't confuse it with mean (average). Median is the exact middle of a data set, with half of all samples above it, and half of all samples below it. Is it the only measure one needs to describe a distribution? no, but we have those others too.

I had to implement it for SendGrid, and yes, routing data is covered. Verification is almost all civil liability, but the consequences are significant. Beyond that, it's not just civil liability for your company, it's civil liability for your b2b customers, which is where the teeth come in.
