iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

they’re following the DCUI thing and launching a 30-days-after-print tier… really curious when these things just go day and date at this point

the crazy thing is an offline resonance-style remake of the first soldier portion of ever crisis would be the best final fantasy vii spinoff by default

If you write critically, you have to do something besides get excited. You have to examine what's in front of you. What you see is a movie industry in decay, and they decay gets worse and worse. (2001)

love the bit in parasite eve where the chief of police is like it should be nice and easy to evacuate manhattan since most people are out of town for christmas

sorrel @sorrelkj.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

finally playing parasite eve. lmfao yeah dude. rock on. should resident evil have jrpg dungeons? yes. obviously

i actually can’t believe all the vr guys are following the avp Tethered Puck thing. unwieldy and dorky and stupid

remember when they said they were gonna put google gemini in dragon quest x

begrudgingly playing fantasy life and okay okay fine they made a whole game out of job quests and it’s good

sorrel @sorrelkj.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

the new resident evil movie doesn’t have any of my favorite characters from the franchise. call me when someone who really loves resident evil makes a movie with k-mart, rain, the red queen, and the rest of the gang

i said this about pixy garden but i’m standing by it

having a real “there will never be a playstation one again” moment. we did not know what we had when we had mid budget japanese video games for the playstation one and we will never fully understand what we lost when they invented High Definition Video Gaming

you can tell zach cregger doesn’t really “get” resident evil because he gave his main character a personality and desires

i really do not want to go back to ffxiv but god damn i wish any other game had gathering and crafting that i liked anywhere near as much as ffxiv’s. they should make reverse rabbit and steel

a lotta yall still dont get it. Balor's heart holders can use multiple concentrated flamma on a single treasure. so if you have 1 of drake's treasures and 3 flamma you can create 3 new treasures. Tonight's flamma mint event is essentially a minting event for both Order of Mithras and Raksha.

Fire Emblem spoilers, I guess. After 50 hours of propernoun plotslop, this is what broke me. If this doesn't affect you like it does me, then have at it. It is relentless, though.

one thing i know for sure is taking a scolding moralizing attitude about the weird sex your political opponents are having will never backfire or have any immediately obvious negative consequences

lady bird and little women are extremely beautiful movies both holistically and just as Things To Look At but gerwig was so not up to the task of making barbie’s lavish complicated production design look interesting at all. not really a mode i want her to stay in. certainly not for netflix lol

why did they spend 800 trillion dollars and a decade remaking x-men origins: wolverine for the xbox 360. completely futile task. it’s impossible to make a “better” version of x-men origins: wolverine for the xbox 360

nothing you can predict about final fantasy vii revelation will be funnier than when they had a several hour long main quest dungeon in remake where you have to help leslie kyle, a minor character from a young adult novel nobody on earth has ever read

the ffvii compilation is so funny in concept, remember when they said loveless was not just something that was coincidentally on a poster but was actually both a shakespeare play and like a biblically important text

feels bad not loving this one because some very cool stuff happens in it and the opening convinced me that i was in for a fun flirty low-stakes adventure but man, nothing really captured me here i’m sorry to say

a two and a half star letterboxd review of mission impossible 2 reading “genuinely heartbroken to say that on first watch very little of this works. the bioweapon stuff feels so high-stakes and the high coverage slow-mo looks so absurd that you’d think this was a really goofy film but it feels the need to constantly ground itself in really boring ways. why is the villain just a really wild day trader?? why is so much of the conflict built around ethan dating a girl for like two weeks??? it’s also severely lacking in that sweet spy-heist-y tension the first one had. idk. not in love with this. exploding motorcycle chicken is really cool though. i’m not a monster”

010

sorrel @sorrelkj.bsky.social · 09/07/2023

it’s incredible how frequently an action movie reveals that the villain’s real motive was stock market manipulation, the most boring crime
