Also, this is one reason why commissions are/would be so hard. Sometimes I sit down to draw and I don't want to do "a painting." Or I start that way, but then I realize I like how my large sketch brush and little eraser are working and decide to make *that* the life of the piece.

Art trade for @totallynotatypo.bsky.social Trying to find an approachable format that I enjoy more than badges, but is still relatively fast and doable on my standalone tablet. It's hard not to get caught up in all the details though, especially with all the feather textures!

A digitally painted portrait of an anthropomorphic Eastern screech owl character in 3/4 view. The eye closer to the viewer is squinted. He is wearing a dark green and gray cloak/tunic with spiked shoulder pads. He is holding a golden shield in his left hand/talon.

idk, I'm sure the advice that "you have to interact with others on social media to get a following" has its merit. But it hasn't worked for me yet. Meanwhile on Mastodon, I pretty much just post my art and leave, and I get the most response out of any platform I've ever tried. Weird!

"Magic" My lifelong fear of jellyfish was gone the moment I first saw one in the wild. Just floating along, slow, ethereal. The color of the water was difficult to capture. It wasn't the stereotypical blue--more greens and browns from sediment and tides. But beautiful in its own way.

A digital painting of an anthropomorphic African wild dog character. She is floating underwater against a greenish background, and gazing at a jellyfish floating in the foreground.

Thank you so much! It was hard not going with stereotypical blue, but I'm happy with how it turned out!

I've been working on this piece on and off since surgery, though it's hard when I can't sit down for very long. It's FINALLY almost done aaaaa

omg, tell me about it. 😖 The amount that people assume that I'm male and/or I use he/him pronouns just because I don't have big eyelashes or an hourglass figure or whatever. Thanks for the opportunity to share!! ^^

I'm gonna use this opportunity to redesign my logo a bit now that the NieR hyperfixation has passed. (Keeping some nods to it, though!)

To whoever reuploaded my art (OF MYSELF) to e621 and labelled it objectively without my permission: Please try to understand how disrespectful and violating that is, and please stop.

I swam in a lake for the first time years. I had swum out just far enough that all I could see was the plant life ahead and the empty blue above. I'm not sure why it was such a spiritual experience, but it felt like something changed in me at that moment. #furryart

STOP 🛑✋️ This is a WIP checkpoint QRP with your current WIP Experimenting with some text-based stuff. Not quite sure what I'm doing yet :'D but I've been looking at magazine covers

An unfinished digital painting in the style of a magazine cover. The subject is an anthropomorphic African wild dog character with a yellow leaf marking on her back. She is facing away from the viewer and looking back over her shoulder, with one jacket over her shoulder. There is text reading "PLUSBOY" and "ギガンティックO.T.N" overlaid on the top and the side.

Did I mention the standalone tablet I got myself so I could draw while recovering from surgery out-of-state? Because it's AWESOME This is a colored sketch for a friend, Coda! #furryart #artistsonbsky

A digital sketch of an anthropomorphic character. it is shaped like an anthro canine, but with human-like skin instead of fur. It is wearing a black collar, tank top and shorts, and glasses. It is smiling shyly at the viewer with its head turned slightly.

Busty anime ladies... I am sensing a pattern here

Not related at all, but recently I (kind of) watched the Spongebob movie over Celeste's shoulder. It's not a movie I would, for example, go out of my way to watch *without* Celeste there, but there were parts of it that I found genuinely delightful.

Fun fact, in case I haven't mentioned it before: I usually paint on only 1 to 3 layers. I start with the lines and base colors each on a layer, but typically merge to one when the painting gets more refined. If there's a background, that is also on its own layer. Anyway, here's a WIP! #furryart

I still waffle a little bit on whether to put suggestive/NSFW art on this account or my actual NSFW account. I don't think one or the other is the "right" way to do it, but I have a lot of shame to unlearn surrounding drawing NSFW art. 😖

In this case I experimented with inking the traditional sketch with a pen, scanning in the pen lines, editing a bit and then coloring traditionally. But I'm not incredibly pleased with how the pen lines and digital color interact (and it wasn't even that fast...)

Soren System Art @sorensystemart.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

I'm still trying to figure out how to do a quick *digital* piece. Traditionally I can lay down some color pencil accents, but once I go digital, i feel like the only thing that looks good is a full painting. Which... I'm faster than I used to be, but it still takes HOURS 🙃
