Most popular buzzword for 2026? My bet is on “agentic” even though it kinda makes me want to throw up

New playlist dropped! We're All F*cked 💀 spotify.link/OMsxgoilNXb A beautifully bleak mix of trip-hop, post-rock, and electronic indie. The perfect soundtrack to watching everything fall apart in real time! #SpotifyMix #halloween #horror #NoKings #resist #anxiety #doomscrolling #voidcore

A few months ago, through a competition with Seattle's Rat City Homebrew Club, I got to brew my beer with the friendly talented folks at Flying Lion! It was amazing to work with Andy on this batch: SHELTER FROM THE RAIN, a Spruce Tip IPA w/ Centennial, Simcoe and Vista hops! #columbiacity #craftbeer

The head brewer and me, with buckets of hops!

Shoveling out over 200 lbs of grain from the mash tun

Important computers screens. Very technical. Zoom in! Enhance!

My Norwegian-style vossaøl that I brewed in December earned a bronze medal in this year's Cascade Brewers Cup! Juniper infusion with spruce tips and orange esters from the kveik yeast. Thanks to @larsga.bsky.social for his Historical Brewing Styles book which inspired me to try this style!

Fermenting a ruby mild ale, “Hiidenhehku,” or “Glow of the Hiisi” Imagine a mystical, otherworldly red glow—belonging to ancient spirits—flickering like a dying ember in the depths of a hidden, enchanted forest. Excited to see how the color turns out when it’s done!

2024 Brew-trospective! Homebrewing brought me so much joy and connection with friends and family this year. I brewed 24 small batches, some of them were better than others, but all of them were fun to make! (1/4)

My most experimental brew to date! “Tervahauta” was brewed with mild and graham cracker malts, Challenger, Cascade and Hersbrucker hops, and a moderate dose of pine tar aroma syrup from Finland. Co-fermented with Kölsch yeast and sourdough starter.

Decided to crack open and taste my barleywine from last winter (relic, 2023). Hazy appearance, deep amber color. Aroma of dried fruit and caramel. Smooth mouthfeel with light carbonation. Taste has notes of apricot, more caramel and molasses. Definitely a sipper at 14.5% too! Happy holiday!

16 YEARS AGO this month, I scored a friend's film and composed 'Gone' for its emotional climax. It became part of my debut album Chiaroscuro and also ep1 of Ian Hubert's sci-fi series Dynamo. Sometimes it can be fun to revisit old favorites... Stay tuned :) 🎧: sorenlaulainen.bandcamp.com/track/gone

Vossaøl made it into the fermenter at about 9:30 last night! With a yeast scream of course.

Crazy long brew day. After a 2 hour juniper infusion and a 3 hour mash, I’m starting a 2.5 hour boil. It’s dark already 🥲 #homebrewing #brewday

In August, I wrote about a trilogy of British-style beers I created, inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's "The Music of Erich Zann" — a 3.3% Dark Mild, a 6.3% Strong Ale, and a 9.5% Old Ale. This project blended storytelling and brewing in a really fun way. More details and recipes on my blog! #homebrewing
