My framework is theres a macro trend of r&b morphing to funk and rock to punk, add in reggae,each style developed more rythmic emphasis, then those trends inspired hip hop, house, etc until eventually we get country rap. Its been influencing pop music for decades.

I have no recent experience with a mono cartridge (as a kid i had a 60s era GE solid state automatic portable turntable :-) Ive read mono cartridge will reduce noise on old vinyl. Any recommendations or thoughts about a mono cartridge? Some seem very spendy for such old tech but so are tube amps...

Punk rock was never the dominant cultural phenom in N America to the degree it was in Britain. My dad was a welder but growing up in the suburbs we didnt really have class awareness. The break in the US I perceived was 80s hardcore kids versus the first gen punks who seemed old, like hippies.

Many projects Ive worked in in WA state require SEPA, NEPA, ESA, Hydraulic, floodplain, water quality, Army Corps 404d, sometimes even tribal permits! Its a real burden and usually doesnt produce better environmental outcomes than the original proposals.

A ridiculous system deserves to be mocked. Their decisions ought to be peer-reviewed like scientific journal articles by a larger panel of judges with subject matter expertise. Doctrinal inconsistencies or factual errors would have to be addressed and accepted prior to publication.

Cool find. I remember a Buzzcocks compilation on CD sounded quite thin whereas others sounded great. I feel like some of the early cds i bought in 80s were not mixed or mastered for the format. I suppose theres alot more technical explanations?
