In 2020 when I was thinking of switching to a Max-size phone I made a cardboard form to gage the hand/pocket feel. (I did switch) Now six years later, curious about the Duo, I can just yoink a 3D model out of Apple’s AR site and print off a copy. (I won’t be switching — I update for the camera)
A cardboard and masking tape form that’s the size of an iPhone 12 Max held in a left hand. Written in Sharpie on the cardboard: “12 FONE MAX”A white, 3D printed form of an iPhone Duo (extracted from Apple’s AR “view it in your home” website), closed and viewed from the back, held in a left hand.

@iconfactory.com’s Ollie figurine, scanned and rendered in chrome. I got the 3D scanner because most of the things I model and print support/attach to/otherwise interact with an existing object and it’ll save (has already saved) a lot of measuring time. But I’m not NOT going to play with it.
Iconfactory’s Twitterrific Ollie bird figurine, 3D scanned and rendered with a highly reflective chrome surface, stands against a blue-purple background.Iconfactory’s blue Twitterrific Ollie bird figurine is being ridden by a blue LEGO Batman figure holding a large double-bladed weapon circa 2012. Beside them, a small portrait display shows a stylized Gotham skyline with the Bat-Signal, from the illustrated end-credit cards from the 1960s “Batman” TV series.

I guess a new season of Reacher premieres today
A screenshot of the Showtrack app in dark mode showing three “Reacher” TV episodes under “Today.” Each episode uses the same Prime Video poster featuring Jack Reacher’s face lit blue and red, with “REACHER” in large white letters. The first is marked “Season premiere” and labeled “City of Brotherly Love,” S4 E1; the second is “Cage Fight,” S4 E2; and the third is S4 E3, with its title partly obscured by the bottom navigation bar. The navigation shows Shows, Library, Add, and Scan.

A man with short gray hair, two weeks gray beard growth, and dark sunglasses takes a selfie outdoors while wearing a blue Victoria T-shirt. Behind him is a sloped hillside covered with green shrubs and trees, with utility poles and wires along the ridge under a deep blue sky. That should be self-evident.   : D I’d pick a letter and lay down on the living room floor with it, browsing from cover to cover. I loved the descriptions of projects I never did, like the science fair diorama of a dam, with a pump and little water wheel I can still picture.
A cozy living room with a tall wooden bookcase built beside a brick fireplace. The shelves are filled with books and decorative items including steins, a blue mug, a carved candle, a decorative plate, a mantel clock, and a small figurine. A complete shelf of gold-and-brown World Book Encyclopedia volumes is prominently displayed on the lower shelf. In the foreground are a brass table lamp with a white shade and a wooden chair draped with a red, black, and white zigzag-patterned afghan.

Front cover of a worn Disneyland Records album sleeve titled “Walt Disney Productions’ The Aristocats and other cat songs.” Colorful overlapping silhouettes of jazz-playing characters appear behind the title. Cartoon characters from the 1970 animated film “The Aristocats” are shown around the bottom and right side, including O’Malley, Duchess, the kittens, Roquefort the mouse, Lafayette and Napoleon the dogs, and two geese. Text includes “with PHIL HARRIS as O’Malley,” “Disneyland Record,” “DQ-1333,” and “©1970 Walt Disney Productions Printed in U.S.A.”Back cover of the same album sleeve, titled “Walt Disney Productions’ The Aristocats and other cat songs.” Illustrations of Duchess and Thomas O’Malley appear at the top above the text “The Story In Pictures From WALT DISNEY Productions’ ‘THE ARISTOCATS,’ All Cartoon Full Length Feature!” Fourteen small scenes from the 1970 animated film “The Aristocats” are arranged with captions summarizing the story. Characters shown include Edgar the butler, Madame Bonfamille, Duchess, Marie, Berlioz, Toulouse, Roquefort, Lafayette, Napoleon, Abigail Gabble, Thomas O’Malley, and Scat Cat and his musicians. Best Christmas gift ever. We raced this thing for years
Aged instruction sheet for the J.C. Penney 920-3621 Nite Glow Empire 1000 Electric Racing set by Tyco Industries. A large assembly diagram fills the lower half of the page, showing the layout of the slot car track with lettered sections and supports. Visible text includes “P6622Q / J.C. The task for the Democratic Party is to convince voters that Trump is *not* a one-of-one, *not* some bizarre freak of nature, *not* an anomaly, but rather the full & clear expression of Republican Party values. This is what you get when you elect Republicans.

#Artemis II lunar flyby images are showing up! 😍 A crescent Earth setting behind the Moon.
Earthset captured through the Orion spacecraft window at 6:41 p.m. EDT, April 6, 2026, during the Artemis II crew’s flyby of the Moon. A muted blue Earth with bright white clouds sets behind the cratered lunar surface. The dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime. On Earth’s day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region. In the foreground, Ohm crater has terraced edges and a flat floor interrupted by central peaks. Central peaks form in complex craters when the lunar surface, liquefied on impact, splashes upwards during the crater’s formation.

When I’d visit my parents, I’d always drink from a circa 1983 Camp Snoopy glass. For decades I’d say that one day I’d take the glass home (that and a rocking chair were the only things I called dibs on) Now the glass is home and it’s weird. Weird that day has come and weird to lose another constant
A clear McDonald’s Camp Snoopy drinking glass on a countertop with a Peanuts illustration of Snoopy dancing outdoors. Sunlight and blurred greenery are visible through windows behind the glass.

Still cleaning out my childhood home and found a “time capsule” I had made in 1979 to be opened in 1985. I guess an overwrought description of my location was the most important thing the future needed to know. The gas shit is evergreen though.
Rectangular Close-up toothpaste box wrapped in shiny silver foil and yellowed clear tape, resting on beige carpet. A typed paper label taped across the center reads “TIME CAPSULE I,” “1979,” and “OPEN IN 1985”Detail view of one end of the foil-wrapped box. A small handwritten label under yellowed tape reads “official seal” and “not valid if broken.” The silver foil is wrinkled, with worn edges and peeling tape.Rolled sheet of white paper secured with a small piece of yellowed tape, lying on a brown surface. Large handwritten text on the outside reads “open 1985” on the left and “From 1979” on the right.Typed page held flat by a sheet of plexiglass.

TIME CAPSULE I -JUNE 15, 1979-

This is an experimental “time capsule”.
It is being made in the year 1979. There was a good movie in 1977. It was called “STAR WARS.” There will be a sequel to it called “The Empire Strikes Back”. (coming soon)
