Went to RSPB Ham Wall today and ticked off a couple of new birds. A Bittern flew over us (thank you to the knowledgeable birders who ID'd the brown flying thing), and there were some Glossy Ibis in one of the lakes 🦆 #Nature #Wildlife #Birds #Birding #RSPB

The relentless days of blue sky continue in South Somerset but it does make spotting birds in the sky so much easier. The Swifts have been amazing as it has been possible to watch them at all altitudes as they feed, catch insects or just scream above the roof tops.

North Moor this evening well over 50 Cattle Egrets, 2 Barn Owl, 3 possibly 4 Y Wag, got home and my daughter phoned to tell me she could see a family of Little Owls in a local orchard, checked it out, seems like 3 possibly 4 Owlets and being fed regularly, well pleased

Adult Sedge Warbler in the vegetation along the River Parrett near Langport, Somerset. This birds is calling to the young birds who are hiding in dense vegetation down and to the left. I have included an image of one of the young as it popped into view. 🙂
