It needs to be said over and over because it’s really important: if you read an indie novel/comic, play an indie game/visual novel, etc. and you enjoyed it, one of the best ways to help the creator is to tell people about it! Leave reviews, tell your friends. Every little bit helps us so much!

It's actually so important to say nice things about the fanworks you love in a place where the creator can see them.

sure Izumi, Ckg is totally just a regular trading company employee

Kasumi: That reminds me… Those two work in the same company, right? Itaru-kun and Chikage-kun, I mean.
Izumi: That’s right. Just your regular, hardworking trading company employees.

Optimist: The cup is half empty. Pessimist: The cup is half full. Game translator: Can I get a screenshot of the cup? What's the gender of the optimist and the pessimist? Also, please tell your engineers that your character limit for the word cup (3) won't work for most languages.

Friendly reminder— There’s no one way to create, no wrong way. If you’re a character animator and you want to try modeling? Do it! If you usually do digital work and want to do traditional, go for it! It’s better to fail and find you don’t like doing something than not trying at all.

This is a cry for help. Recently, my family's financial stability is a very thin thread on the verge of snapping. If you come across this, please share it around. If you're able to help, then I'd be very grateful. Ko-Fi: ko-fi.com/skai2blue4u carrd: skai2blue4.carrd.co itch: skai2blue4u.itch.io

So, my grandmother needs your help.

What happened?

Around September 6th of 2024, my 91 year old grandmother was hospitalized because of an infected wound on her face that went into sepsis. I ended up footing the bill for this despite my status as an unemployed university student and lost a good chunk of my life savings in the process. Unfortunately, even if she recovered from the sepsis, the doctors believe she caught pneumonia from the hospital during her stay. She came home on September 13th but had to return to the hospital on September 19th because of lung complications. She was discharged again during September 24th and we thought she was on her way to recovery but on October 18th, her blood oxygen levels began to drop again and she was brought back to the hospital where she’s still staying to this day. Since then, a mountain of bills have piled up— medical and non-medical included. It’s starting to become increasingly difficult to keep up with them the longer that she stays in the hospital.

So, my grandmother needs your help.

Who’s asking?

I’m Skai, an artist and a VN dev. Usually, I would prefer to open emergency commissions and not disclose too many details about the situation beyond a quick summary of it. This time, though, I’ve come to accept the reality that time is not on my side and I can’t juggle commissions and promotion with the work that I have to do for my majors in university on top of being the sole caretaker of another disabled elderly person in my home. I had to pick a lane, social media or my degree, and I obviously had to choose my degree. This is why I’ve finally decided to ask for donations to hopefully help us through these trying times.

So, my grandmother needs your help.

How to help?

Even just sharing this around is a big thing if you don’t have money to spare but if you do, you can donate to my ko-fi page. I’ll provide a link. I would have made a GoFundMe but I just recently found out that they don’t support it in my country. Anyway, we learn to make do. Another way to show support is to go to my itch.io page and name your own price if you decide to download some of my visual novels. My commissions are also technically open but I can’t work on them until my semester ends. The details of which are on my carrd site. I do sprite art, character design, GUI Design, and writing work. If you have any questions, my dms are open.
