My health continued to decline, and I finally got to a neurosurgeon who saw a rare issue in my brain that was very slowly killing me. I had major brain surgery on Juneteenth, my surgeon is a black woman, and I'm feeling grateful beyond words that she agreed to operate on me ASAP. She saved my life.
