The thing is that SteamVR has historically been very unreliable on Linux. I hope that with the release of the Steam Frame, as it runs Linux, they'll release updates and patches to make the experience of it actually good, so it could replace foss workaround solutions, even for wireless PCVR.

It's just especially important for me as I use Linux. Either Valve is finally gonna get their shit together with SteamVR, or I'm gonna have to wait for the WiVRn team to develop a Steam Frame client for WiVRn.

Damn. But it's gonna be out any moment now. I'll probably wait for the initial batch and see what people think and whether it's actually good. Would want to be sure that it actually works on Linux before I buy it. I'd also have to sell my current setup and maybe wait for my next paycheck.

I think the only realistic option is a thin window, but that would be terrible for heat isolation. Or the frame could be made of a material or structure that aims to forward sound. Or something like that. But I feel ya. The sound of birds chirping in the morning is indeed something truly beautiful.
