Gotta start saying I do plein air chainmail. Almost all of my weaving takes place on patios at bars, clubs, cafés, and other public spaces. Almost all of my work has been handed to dozens of strangers who've never encountered chainmail outside of a museum case.

the original work is a prose account of numerous battles by Froissart. we don't know who illustrated this particular miniature, but I'd love to know why they chose to depict that ass that way when the real chainmail artifacts we have tend to, shall we say, pancake en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Froissa...

Illustrated Manuscripts: The Chronicles were almost immediately popular among the nobility, and many manuscripts were expensively illuminated. In the first quarter of the 15th century, many illustrated copies of Book I, as well as some copies of Books II and III, were produced by the Parisian booktrade. Nearly half of these surviving copies can be linked to a particular libraire, called Pierre de Liffol. Several artistic hands can be detected in these copies, but two anonymous miniature painters seem to stand out as regular collaborators in Liffol's production: the Boethius Master and the Giac Master.
