This is a super interesting website that has a map of the balance of payments. It is the ratio of how much revenue a given state puts in to the federal government, and how much it gets back. I can see that New York State gives more to the Feds, and most red states receive more from the government.

This happened at the VA I helped build an expansion on. There were several career VA transgender employees there that were rather high ranking. Nobody deserves to be beaten down so bad they feel this is their only choice. The song Make It Stop by Rise Against comes to mind.

As a teen growing up in New York State me and my friends would go across the border at Niagara Falls and enjoy the nightlife at Clifton Hill. It was an amazing experience. We also camped in Barre, Ontario near Toronto. We shopped the Beer Store, smoked terrible cigarettes and met amazing people.
