This sort of thinking will lead to Ross Kemp or Danny Dyer being cast as the next Doctor.

Depictions of death and a riot of colour at Frieda Kahlo, Tate Modern. Her painting of The Suicide of Dorothy Hale is extraordinary, breaking through the limits of the frame and dripping onto it. Like a comic book, it shows the different stages of her death. Both dispassionate and deeply moving.

More works from the Frieda Kahlo exhibition at Tate Modern - particularly fond of the Tequila bottle labels. The final rooms deal with art and commercial products influenced by her.

Miscellaneous highlights from the fabulous Frieda Kahlo exhibition, Tate Modern, London. The downside is that there are relatively few of her own works on show, but there are some fabulous photographs and works that were influenced by her or pay tribute.

Forget Autons, Axons and Sea Devils, nothing says evil Gallifreyan mastermind Time Lord with designs on ruling the universe like conducting a meat raffle.

Terrifying Movellan war dance. Those disco moves could wipe out Skaro’s finest.

Rendezvous with Rama and Childhood’s End - both brilliant. A lovely little collection. I didn’t know such Great Aunts existed…

Nice campaign by the Norwegian Consumer Council about the declining lifespan of products. Enjoy!

Well, I guess it’s appropriate…Star Trek as drawn by my favourite ever artist, Frank Bellamy. We’re more used to his version of Thunderbirds and Doctor Who.

Brilliant! Not surprised Bennett liked it. Could have been a scene recounted in Talking Heads.

I’m constantly decluttering the house. The hardest thing to move on, either for charity or eBay, is a book, even if you have no intention to ever read it again.

Two Women on the Peat Moor, my favourite picture from the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam. I love this aspect of Dutch art: a slice of “working class” life as ordinary women are silhouetted cutting peat for fuel. Far more interesting than paintings of the rich and royal.

Loved him as Dr Terror, though for nostalgic reasons mainly - the first horror film I ever saw. But his best performance was surely on tv, in the great 50s BBC version of 1984. Loved the actor so much I visited his gorgeous house in Whitstable (and the surprisingly good pub named in his honour).

Agreed, but I guess the value of a player is fundamentally down to what other clubs are willing to pay, and Como seems to have been the only team who made a real attempt to sign him. No idea why others didn’t enter a bidding war.

It’s brilliant beyond compare. Watched it once as a teenager, once as an adult, now looking forward to watching it as an old git. Possibly the strongest cast ever gathered on tv, and the studio bound video means you focus on the characters, not the setting. Livia just drips evil.

@radiofreeskaro.bsky.social #FluidLinks It’s obviously a sheer delight when missing episodes are discovered. But which episodes or stories of 60s Who would actually have a better reputation if they were missing?

Probably wise to keep away from any shop windows displays featuring mannequins, especially residents of Ealing…

Delightful 1950s Pulp Horror cover (Norman Saunders?) for Worlds of Fear. Clearly heavily influenced by Dali, with echoes of Bunuel and Cocteau perhaps.

An atmospheric photo of the wonderful warehouse area of Shad Thames, near Tower Bridge, over a century ago. Then another with the requisite falling Dalek. Never a day went by for those warehouse workers without some random Dr Who monster landing on their heads. A real Health and Safety issue.
