Loved the 2nd season of #LasAzules which has just concluded: while soapy at times, it was pitch perfect in its situating within the social and political milieu of the early 1970s, still haunted by the ‘68 protests and the state’s ruthless repression, and the show gorgeously recreates the period 💙📺

Enjoyable read with a great hook - what if your neighbourhood granny was a convicted killer? While generally a well-paced novel featuring a deliciously grumptious, grumpy protagonist, the redemption arc ties up a bit too neatly and some of the revelations seem unnecessary 💙📚

Donal Ryan’s debut novel and its decade-later sequel are solid, if uneven reads - I liked the concept of first person narrations by the kaleidoscope of characters in an Irish village (including a little girl) but it flags sometimes as some personages are necessarily less engaging 💙📚

#DiarraFromDetroit also had a strong season - though the number of bodies piling up without repercussions for our plot armoured heroine was a tad outlandish 😅 I really enjoyed Diarra’s incredible fashion sense - whether digging tunnels or burying bodies, that girl would rock an outrageous dress! 💙📺

I think that’s a poor-rish results coz you expect more from the players - Jacquet was too passive for the 2nd goal, Isak not clinical enough with the few good passes he got, the back four essentially froze for the first goal probably coz they assumed offside. But good fighting spirit #LFC
