They basically had to use all their experience and expertise to salvage a nonsensical set of instructions in order to be able to make anything, and the thing it made was still mal-proportioned garbage. 000

Show ideas to your friends, get your designs out there and start doing stuff with them. You'll much better learn what you want from your characters that way. 000

Your first design is a "first draft" and it's not set in stone. You're not committed to anything. You can and should evolve the design over time 100

Lots of players really like designing characters, and most of what you remember about tabletop gaming is interactions and stories with characters (rather than, say, a really fancy description of a cave.) 110
