If you're disabled and involved in such things, it is pertient for you to advocate your own position, and actively engage as you can to develop ways for disabled people to participate. While they need to be inclusive of all, disability needs/tasks/actions need to be developed by the disabled

medical asylum has already been a subtle reason for emigration from the states, its a semi well known thing here in Australia. Thing is though, many countries are aware that US citizens are doing this, and have restrictions on who can naturalise based on their long term medical costs

now i think about it, verbs for eating are often used for these sorts of things. an allowable hedonism, of gobbling down a chapter, or binging a show, or to savour a book. consume im sure was used as a catch all but adverbs make it more fun

na you're right. we have been dealing with hyper medicalising all mental conditions, instead of prioritisng medical ways for people to be able to safely experience their own cognition (ADHD, Bipolar, Schizo aff. Etc), and non medical ways for conditions that don't need it (Autism, GDD, FAS, etc)

as someone who isnt in the US, it concerns me seeing protest/resistsnce without intersectionality. It means the progress is doomed to fail, progressive ideals will be chipped away at in their aims until the ruling class gets to give them dregs at the expense of the vulnerable

this sorta thing shows why intersectionality needs to be at the core of all protest/activism work. it often is in places where unionism is stronger, and the social safety net isn't completely disolved. people who can, should fight for all, not just their own niche.

ya same here in australia. if i get groceries delivered, its by a professional delivery driver, and many different places have this option. the big companies offer uber as a quick option but its vastly more expensive, and i don't bother with it. Delivery has always existed.

A lack of planning and preperation for this fire seems almost deliberate at this point. Warnings, community outreach, lobying, enviromental action, yet the most vulnerable were left behind. People tried to prepare and help and it was ignored for years.

Yeah they're both tragic, but just from this outline it seems like the ww was more able to plan and prepare, and didnt (or economically couldn't), resulting in the lapse in time, and the dad was struggling with both his own disability and his son's.

Its why I at least respect the truthfullness of his supporters: they outright say he is upholding american ideals. I find those ideals abhorent as as a non yank. The 'progressive' ideals espoused by the other side are both middling and seem unrepresentative of the culture there
