And that’s what leads to the question. You said something with confidence and then, when asked a question based on that statement, had to look up data to answer that question.

You beat off two guys at the same time?

120

Snort my Mellowcreme Pumpkin @snrtmahtnt.bsky.social · 20h

Right, but you looked it up AFTER you said a lot.

So, if men do just a little bit more... If we were given $100 and I got to split it up, and I gave you, say, $2, and myself $98. Did I give myself a little bit more than you?

Weren't you complaining about people's reading comprehension a little bit ago?

"Men might do a little bit more in terms of sexual offenses, but that doesn't mean women offenders don't exist. Please use your brain." I am pretty sure no one said women don't commit sexual offenses. You, however, suggest men just do a little bit more than they do.

I can scroll up and see that you said what I quoted you as saying.

"i mean there are a lot of cases where women teachers do molests children just like how there's cases where male teachers molest children, sexual offenses isn't an exclusive issue to any group of people aka what i was saying in my og reply" So, again. What percentage do *you* think makes for a lot?

Snort my Mellowcreme Pumpkin @snrtmahtnt.bsky.social · 21h

You should apply that rigorous study to all these famously misattributed quotes.

010

Snort my Mellowcreme Pumpkin @snrtmahtnt.bsky.social · 21h

By "a lot", what percentage of sexual assaults are you believing are committed by women?

b) What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little shit? Ill have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and Ive been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare...

I am walking around the house being inordinately angry I didn't think about the Dune similarities before now and how well that Penny Arcade sums up her review.

010

Snort my Mellowcreme Pumpkin @snrtmahtnt.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

I read all the original books. I owned.. own?.. the Dune Encyclopedia. I just wasn't invested in them so much that any change was bad.

110

Snort my Mellowcreme Pumpkin @snrtmahtnt.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

I mean, that sums up the feeling of her take exactly. That said, I enjoyed the newer books too.

120

Snort my Mellowcreme Pumpkin @snrtmahtnt.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

I might put it close to people being extremely (and vocally) upset about Brian Herbert's Dune work.

120

Snort my Mellowcreme Pumpkin @snrtmahtnt.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Like... Saying something like "it ignores previously laid explanations of the background of the character" is a valid statement. But it also treats it like the changes are a personal affront.

130

Snort my Mellowcreme Pumpkin @snrtmahtnt.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Eh. Some of her points are fine, but it's all in a "I want an oompa loompa NOW, daddy" vein, if that makes sense.

“Larian Studios made the choice to have a vampire spawn as a companion character, despite spawn being monsters and not a playable race by DnD 5e rules, for the sake of the story they were telling.” 5e explicitly has a section on creating or modifying existing races to be playable.

The only thing I cling to is that maybe… just maybe… many people who opt to watch an execution will realize maybe we shouldn’t have the death penalty.

“I went into my reading of the ARC for this novel hoping for a new take on a beloved character.” It sounds like you weren’t really looking for a new take on a beloved character.

I mean I get being upset when one property destroys your feelings regarding that same property (see The Watch compared to all the rest of Discworld) but there’s something that comes with being an adult where you just need to acknowledge that you’re not the only character on stage.

No doubt. I'd love to go sit in London's coffee shops and listen in on people discussing the latest serial release from Dickens.

Snort my Mellowcreme Pumpkin @snrtmahtnt.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Let me get this straight. You're raising holy hell because you don't like the way an author portrayed a character in a book they wrote. That's what it boils down to?
