Also lmao I wish they didn't do the obscuring gimmick thing with this cover specifically cause Storm looks so cool the other storm cover they had is kinda boring imo

PEARLUX REAL @snowrites.bsky.social · 1h

I don't think they get as many Zatana copies as say batman but icl I'd argue they put too much batman on the shelves anyway lmao. Had to dig to find the main midnight x-men cover

PEARLUX REAL @snowrites.bsky.social · 1h

Very glad to report that the reason why I wasn't seeing Zatanna comics in the store is that they sell out pretty quick omg 😭🙏🏾

I've never seen a person who embodies the concept of "well just be a white man" quite like King does there is no other explanation for his place in the industry. Unless he like has some blood ritual with Jim Lee or something idk lmao

PEARLUX REAL @snowrites.bsky.social · 5h

It's so 🫩 And like not even factoring the fact he is literally an evil person that has done fucked up things (for the sake of argument) the way that the industry has propped him up like some great comics mastermind when he keeps telling the same story over and over is so odd.

PEARLUX REAL @snowrites.bsky.social · 17h

Hopefully this is the last Tom King thing I post but another fascinating thing about him is you'll think "why does he always write this it's like he's trying to convince the audience that his guilt is enough punishment for literal war crimes" and you go surely not right then he says shit like this 😭

110

PEARLUX REAL @snowrites.bsky.social · 18h

people talk about how much of a baddie danica is but vesna is literally the sometimes-tomboyish but stunningly-feminine childhood friend who completely restructures your concept of attraction for the rest of your life and teases you and would show up at your house unexpected

This is gonna sound so elitist and gross and I apologise but even though Tom King is not the first comics writer to larp being a fan of comics he for goddamn sure is trying to be the best there ever was

Also the colourism discussion. I think it's important to interrogate if the reason that I like John so much is because of that. I've genuinely never liked John before. But I also think it's a bit unfair to Aaron to say that the only thing there is to like about him is his looks and skin.
