Snorre @snorre.io · 09/08/2026Now people seem satisfied using Chromium with slightly different wrappers. Yeah, it is better than using Chrome proper, but you are still essentially allowing Google via Chromium to decide what the web ought to look like. Including how browser extensions are allowed to interact with websites. 110 0

Snorre @snorre.io · 27/07/2026Seems the main takeaway is a bit lower performance than laptops with comparable specs, nice build quality, and very good battery time and screen. LPCAMM2 RAM is crazy expensive right now, and if you order now you pay the full new RAM price which is up to $1600 for the 64GB module VAT not included. 000 0

Snorre @snorre.io · 27/07/2026Performance is not comparable to competitors with same CPU. Snorre @snorre.io · 27/07/2026If nothing else I hope European sovereign cloud providers that already provide AI inference as a service will pick up this model. Scaleway already has GLM 5.2, so I'm sure they will eventually offer this one too. You'd have to be a pretty big org to set this up in-house I'd imagine. 020 0

Snorre @snorre.io · 25/07/2026Maybe it is time for a new animation studio to appear, with fresh ideas like Coco, Soul and other gems Pixar has produced in the past. Disney clearly does not value Pixar. It is a real shame artistry and hard work is rewarded with layoffs so often. 000 0
Snorre @snorre.io · 24/07/2026Musk and Tesla cultists can only keep the stock artificially high for so long in face of real market analysis I guess. Hopes and dreams keep that stock afloat. A price to earnings ratio of 295 is still too damn high! Like an order of magnitude too high even if you are very optimistic. 010 0
Snorre @snorre.io · 22/07/2026I don't blame Framework for the high prices. But it is surprising they sold pre-order batches for more inventory than they had secured supplier contracts for. Maybe their RAM supplier pulled a fast one on them, or they gambled on price forecasts not being too catastrophic. 000 0
Snorre @snorre.io · 22/07/2026The AI bubble is squeezing the consumer market hard. Prices are ridiculous now. 21 000 NOK for 64GB ram is insanity. I thought it was very high when I pre-ordered already, then it was 11 000 NOK. 😅 110 0
Snorre @snorre.io · 22/07/2026@frame.work unfortunately had to downgrade RAM for 13 Pro pre-orders batches 5 on due to RAM supplier doubling their pricing. I'm disappointed, but not too surprised. Now will have to think about whether I cancel or not. I feel 32GB ram in 2026 is borderline for heavy development work. 100 0
