iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Watched Where the Wild Things are and now that I see this film while being older I find the sadness in all of its characters very beautiful. Like, it's also a story about acknowledging that sadness alongside Max's more obvious realization

Dios, el anuncio de Marriot que acabo de ver en el cine está horrible. Illuminación terrible y unos colores tan poco saturado que los hoteles se veían deprimentes wtf

Turns out the other roll I brought to the zoo for the Diana was HP5 not Delta, but it did expire Feb '03 along with this other roll I shot downtown. I took this week off so I'll be more out and about in between committing atrocities in the darkroom. Think I'll do some hiking #shittycamerachallenge

A black and white negative reversed in dark table of a lone rhino at the Cincinnati Zoo. Very grainy from digitally increasing the contrast and brightness of this film that's old enough to drink.

A black and white negative reversed in dark table of a few elephants eating from a hanging ball of food at the Cincinnati Zoo, all turned away from the camera. This is probably the better exposure of all this 21 year old film, there's enough detail to see the Elephant's wrinkly skin.

A black and white negative reversed in darktable. Very underexposed, therefore dark, but showing a statue of Old Tippecanoe, William Henry Harrison, at Piatt Park in Cincinnati.

A black and white negative reversed in darktable. Less underexposed than the previous one but also at Piatt Park. A fire truck is coming out of the left side, driving down the road that bisects the park in two.

I am once again trying to work out why I am so bad at black and white 📸 Pentax MG 🎞️ Ilford Delta 400 #photography #35mm #believeinfilm #filmisnotdead

black and white photo of a dead end sign. Beneath it is a rusted out sign announcing a 5mph speed limit. A stop sign stands next to it, but it's so faded it's only recognisable by shape. The image is unevenly exposed and badly hazed

Black and white photo of a dingy alley. There are dramatic clouds above. The entire photograph appears unevenly exposed.

Black and white photograph of a telegraph pole against a cloudy sky

Black and white photo of gnarly empty branches against a white sky. The branches are almost stark white in places

Black and white photo of a street corner. Dark trees block the sun, which is behind a layer of clouds.

Jentry Chau vs the Underword has a LOT of style. Pacing can be kind of weird and some moments need mkre time to properly sink in but overall it is a really cool series. Also Kit deserved so much better, love that dude

Also the use of the wide angle lens and cinemascope makes this movie looks so open and the space of a small town so vast. Also there are some amazing blocking in the cafe that creates painting like compositions

I just finished watchig The Young Girls of Rocheford and my god this movie is so insane. The colors, the repetition and play with them, the motif of duality through balanced composition and playing with that. The lovable characters intertwined in the best intrigue comedy style. I loved this movie

Maybe. I feel like it's always like that with shows that use the plot as a device for thematic exploration rather than the main thing. I love ddd because of how mundane everything feels. It is not an anime but you might like Banana Yoshimoto's novel if you are looking for something similar

110

sniveon.bsky.social @sniveon.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

Right? I think it's also super interesting how it explores how it woukd be like if humanity was stronger than an alien invation but not in a depressing way like District 9 does, more like a mundane way of showing the cruelty

110

sniveon.bsky.social @sniveon.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

I honestly do not understand why dead dead demons wasn't more talked about. The series is so good and, even though it is not as slowburn as the manga, the anime fixes some of the weird pacing of the source material
