What if I started working on all those blank covers I've been hoarding over the years, uh? How about that?

Happy Letterer Appreciation Day! If you've worked in comics you know there's a special magic to seeing the page fully lettered, it truly feels like the story, the lines, the colours finally "become" a comic book page. Here's @letteringbear.bsky.social work in one of my favourite Liebestrasse pages

Page of graphic novel Liebestrasse, Story by Greg Lockard, Lineart by Tim Fish, Colours by me and Letters by Lucas Gattoni

This artbook by @miguelrobledo.bsky.social goes with me wherever I go, alongside artbooks from other greats (Adam Hughes, Charest, Coipel, Wendling, etc). It has taught me a lot about character design and line value/weight/economy.

If you had asked me yesterday, I would be f***ed (Wo Long) but today I have played a bit of Kabuto Park, so I think I'd be fine

Taking it easy today, just painting for fun. A character I've always liked, Horridus. While the painting dries, I quickly check what she's been up to. Apparently she died of COVID a few years back. What a world we live in.

Trying to see something, What's the ultimate comic book artist for you? Not necessarily the best illustrator or the flashiest, but the quintessential sequential artist For me, it's Alan Davis He can draw anything, keep a monthly schedule, not afraid of getting silly, and a very underrated writer.

Look what I got in the mail today! I already have (and read) the digital edition months ago, but after the debacle with the previous publisher I made a note of getting it in physical format when I had the chance. And it comes with extras! (a Q&A with the author @sachacoward.bsky.social)

I know I'll probably never make it to the X-Men, and that's fine, but I know I have a couple of good Cloak and Dagger stories in me and I would love to put them on paper. Hey, Marvel editors.
