Release schedule. Hell, I'd say it started getting bad with things like the Steven Bomb- too little for too long and people lose any semblance of logic TLDR people are impatient and don't have object permanence, if you want to have a healthier audience you have to constantly feed them :/

Cause if it's not insane theory crafting that doesn't pan out (resulting in people losing their goddamn minds) its people too impatient to wait for the whole story arc to make a judgment if the writing is bad or not Imo we didn't have this issue as much before because there was a consistent

There's a vulnerability in creation, even in small parts in mundane things like writing emails or well wishing a friend on their birthday. If you're feeling the gaze of judgment at every turn (real or imagined) then of course you're going to offload that to a third party.

I constantly wonder if the whole gen ai thing took off like it did in part because there's a not small section of society so irony poisoned and terrified of judgement that they'd rather a machine come up with something for them on the off chance it looks like they might not be infallible
