In the short bit about games media layoffs, I'm glad to hear Chris mention that the struggle is around building traffic, not so much the ad market. Nobody likes ads, but they are still a reliable source of money. So it's interesting to see many startups ignore it altogether.

Not sure if it's new or not, but Google Discover is using AI to summarize aggregated stories. I've already had Google's AI Overviews attribute false information to me, so this should be fun.

I haven't worked as much in video, but having gameplay and logos available goes a long way I'm sure. Overall, I'd like to imagine press kits are relatively standard. It's just a matter of the info being easy to find. I'm sure I didn't give you too much to work with, but I appreciate your question!

When I used to write news regularly, screenshots, key art, team photos/key figures, basic info about the game and/or your team. Contact info is useful if I don't already have it. Otherwise, I'll scour for press releases that may have an email address attached.

I'm not sure if they're still common, but I used to really like presskit() pages. They were easy to scan for what I needed, assuming the dev or PR filled them out well. But I guess it really depends on what I'm doing and what the press kit is trying to accomplish.

Looks like the Wardogs devs fixed the building trick of getting the yellow X mark to a corner. For context, you could lock it to a corner and make it significantly easier to build quicker.

Did a quick rant on the incoming Wardogs wipe and how I'm not sure about grinding all my gear again. Even though early wipes are fun across games like Rust and Tarkov. It wouldn't be as bad if I hadn't played so much already haha (level 116)
