Star Finder Program @ SMU @smustarfinder.bsky.social · 10/04/2026Keeping up with astronauts Jeremy Hansen, Reid Wiseman, Christina Koch, and Victor Glover has been incredible as Artemis II has flown around the moon and back. Tonight, they'll land back on Earth! Splashdown is scheduled for 9:07pm Atlantic time tonight! 010
Reposted by Star Finder Program @ SMUTiffany @tiffzny.bsky.social · 02/03/2026There's a lunar eclipse tonight (better description: right before sunrise tomorrow morning!). This is where the moon goes into the Earth's shadow so the moon becomes a red-orange colour when under that shadow. Visible all across north america, if you've got clear skies (1/3) 131
Star Finder Program @ SMU @smustarfinder.bsky.social · 05/02/2026As early as March 6, four astronauts, including Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen, will be launching into space on a 10-day journey around the far side of the moon and back. The Artemis II mission will be the first crewed flight to the moon since the Apollo missions ended in 1972! (Image credit: CSA) 122

Star Finder Program @ SMU @smustarfinder.bsky.social · 19/01/2026For those in Nova Scotia and elsewhere in Canada, there's a decent chance of seeing the northern lights tonight if you have clear skies! Cameras pointed towards the northern part of the sky might be able to pick up green or red northern lights after the skies are dark! ✨ 011
Star Finder Program @ SMU @smustarfinder.bsky.social · 12/11/2025Did you see the northern lights last night? There's a small chance we get another view tonight (Nov 12) if you have clear skies. ✨ It's easiest to see the aurora when using a camera, as it'll pick up the lights long before our eyes. Point north, try a long exposure, and see what you can see! 📷 010
Star Finder Program @ SMU @smustarfinder.bsky.social · 20/10/2025Nova Scotia teachers! The Star Finder team will be at the Association of Science Teachers conference on Oct 24! We'll have a table & we'll do a presentation to share resources with you. We hope we'll see you there! We'll have some printed materials (and maybe even some pens!) to hand out! 👀 ✨ 020
Star Finder Program @ SMU @smustarfinder.bsky.social · 20/10/2025Although the weather isn't in our favour, the Orionids Meteor Shower peaks tonight! It's caused by Earth moving through its orbit where Halley's Comet left lots of tiny pieces of debris. As Earth moves through, we'd see more shooting stars than normal! Check out this TimeAndDate webpage about it:timeanddate.comLook Up to See the Orionids Light Up the Night SkiesCheck out our meteor shower animation to find out how, where, and when to see these shooting stars. 020
