One of the hardest lessons to continually remind myself was, for a couple of decades: Mix with your ears. Mix what you hear. Ignore what your eyes are telling you if the audio disagrees. Stop chasing an image. Chase a sound. Create a 'feel'. It's reference AUDIO - not a reference snapshot.
