To be honest we commission this stuff as a personal perk of the job to support artists and make cool original stuff. For us it's a way to be proud of what we do. And if the flow on is people appreciate the quality it's a bonus.

Look at the final box art in all its glory! Note: We posted this as had people asking if it was made with Ai :( We're proud of our anti Gen AI stance as watching talented people make & craft stuff from scratch is magical. Commissioning artwork from people you admire is a major perk of the job!

SMG Studio does NOT use generative AI for art or visual design in any of our games and that also goes for who we collaborate with. Here's Aussie artist Sindy Sinn sindysinn.com.au (who we have confirmed is a real human) crafting the RISK Pirate map pack box art for us.

Strong sense of colour, humour, quirky ideas, loves teamwork and focus on environmental art. Hoping to work with a variety of people around the world and Australia. Another example of the quick and dirty sketches you'll be given to then let you interpret creatively.

This recent gen Ai debate is a good time to announce we're looking for HUMAN concept artists 2026+ to work with us on a few projects on contract basis. If getting a quick hand-drawn sketch like this to then work your magic on is exciting? Then reply below with your portfolio.

ahh thanks. It was just ~10 lines from 5 responses. So felt so small not worth the toggle. And they were removed after reviewing the overall tone we felt a little too harsh and not funny. Fine line but hey less tears this xmas for some kids.

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but LEGO Party is absolutely better than Mario Party.

Creative, colourful, and a consistent crack up, Lego Party is purpose-built to turn any boring old night into a block party filled with belly laughs. Our review: bit.ly/3Wmaqwl

Review: LEGO Party doesn’t completely reinvent the tried-and-true Mario Party formula, but it does introduce some welcome tweaks to its structure, a uniformly high quality collection of minigames hard-tuned for hilarity, and an enjoyably silly game show-style presentation that’s yet to overstay its welcome. Score: 8 Great
