For all of Unleashed’s faults, it did give us the absolute best song in the entire franchise.

It’s not, nostalgia is blinding you.

Oh yeah the movie is complete shite, it’s incoherent & all over the place, the animation is fairly poor, there isn’t a plot, it’s just an 85 minute Hasbro toy ad. The Optimus Prime shirt was the highlight, give me a new Transformers show in that animation please.

Saw it today in a packed screening. The movie is just Shite, it’s incoherent & all over the place, there isn’t a plot to speak of, it feels like 4 episodes stitched together, the animation is fairly poor. The best thing was Optimus Prime short, a very bittersweet send off to Peter Cullen.

Smash Bros Initiative @smashassemble.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Ha I guess so, cause it is a toy of Hannah Spearitt so technically yeah.

Smash Bros Initiative @smashassemble.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

It’d be like Jurassic Park not making a toy of the T-Rex, that’d be weird. Obviously we don’t know if they were going to make a Gorgonopsid toy eventually if the toys never got cancelled along with the show.

In an effort to avoid other things, I made a set of new TikToks on #Primeval #toys. The first one comes out this evening... TetZooTowers_collection at TikTok!

I still find it baffling they never made a toy of the Gorgonopsid (Inostrancevia) one of the coolest & most iconic designs from the show, and they didn’t make a toy of it… Wot!?

It is rather bittersweet that Peter Cullen’s final performance was opposite his long time frenemy Frank Welker.

I’d love nothing more than for him to fess up, admit he was wrong & apologise to all the organisers of DinoCon & all the artists, we all make mistakes.

Despite that “fiasco” yesterday, looking forward to #DinoConUK 2027.

My hope is that Haines is just ignorant. We are seeing this with the older gen, people like George Lucas & Russell T. Davies have said similar things recently, it seems they’re not getting the same exposure to the poor ethics involved in gen AI as we are. Hope this is a learning experience for him.

It’s very much a George Lucas Star Wars Prequels situation, someone you love & admire their work, who had a huge influence on your childhood returns to this world & completely falls from grace.

Turns out the best way to use Jared Leto is to not have him be physically in something, just be a voice & one you can’t recognise as Jared Leto.

Major announcement posted at #Patreon yesterday: I'm producing a big #specevo #dinosaur book devoted to a "no K/Pg impact" scenario over the next 18 months. I'll be sharing updates on the project at Patreon throughout development, so sign up if you want previews! www.patreon.com/markwitton #sciart

A montage of speculative dinosaurs produced thus far for my "Dinosaurs Evolved" project. Clockwise from top left: the green crookedbill; the magnificent fissurefrill; the berk; the grand field titan; the short-faced olymposaur; the steppe fissurefrill, and the ferocious slaughter king. Want to know more about these guys? Set your controls for the heart of Patreon!

Going back & watching Walking with Dinosaurs Beasts Monsters, Prehistoric Park & Primeval Series 1 to 3, then watching this, Framestore really have come a long long way with creature/animal VFX work.

This is why the industry is imploding, this incessant need for everything to be hyper photorealistic resulting in bloated $200+ million budgets

“A huge herd of Riojasaurus has been drawn to the swollen river. It is hard to believe that these large beasts are related to Powellvenator, but these are plant eating Dinosaurs. Their size is the key to their success, and at 4 tons they are simply too big to be threatened.”

Smash Bros Initiative @smashassemble.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

It cost £1 million an episode, which was unheard of at the time, or rarely since.

It's still May 7 where I live, but in England it is now May 8. So happy 100th birthday David Attenborough! Though you prefer to spend the day quietly, you are natural history personified to me and countless others.

Well Primeval had a budget in its first 3 seasons, the last two it didn’t cause ITV slashed & gutted the show.

Funny thing with the Los Colorados Formation; you could remake the first episode of Walking with Dinosaurs (1999) with this formation: Powellvenator (Coelophysis) Jachaleria (Placerias) Tessellatia (Cynodont) Fasolasuchus (Postasuchus) Riojasaurus (Plateosaurus) Although Peteinosaurus has no Rep.

The scene where Argall agrees with Thragg’s proposal & Theadus opposes it, that is deadass Orion Pax disagreeing with Megatronus’ methods, pre-Autobot Decepticon war.
