I haven’t seen the film, but my interpretation of this is that it isn’t “AI slop”. A significant point is that it’s Musk’s actual statements (voice recordings? in print? not sure) paired with some CGI of Musk’s face… I think Gibney is kind of trolling Musk here.

Here are a couple (gift) links that might be relevant. “AI tools to help sync the fake Musk’s facial movements with the real Musk’s voice” www.theatlantic.com/culture/2026... “The team used AI to sync the avatar’s lips with actual statements Musk has made.” wapo.st/4xM2Pre

Maybe Alex Gibney Did Elon Musk a Favor
For his new documentary about the tech mogul, the director plays by unconventional rules.

The nerve of this guy! He claims it's a moral issue but he also says that one human therapist can supervise thousands of AI "therapists". This is nothing more than a moral crumple zone!!

Came here to see if you're on this, and of course, you are. 👍 This is really saying, "We can't afford to pay for real therapy, but we'll pay for AI 'therapy'. Even if it sometimes convinces people to commit suicide, it's better than nothing." 😵

This sign is a great example for helping to explain why chatbots present such a potent illusion. A probably not short thread 🧵>>
Photo of a sign with a doorbell attached. The printed sign reads:

CURRENT GUGGENHEIM ACCES BY HUSKY CARD ONLY
[Logos for Amazon, FedEx, UPS]
DELIVERIES/VISITORS
PLEASE RING THIS DOORBELL

Delivery hours M-F 9:00am-(obscured)
University of Washington

Taped next to the doorbell is a hand written note that reads:
yes! it rang! Pelase wait 30 seconds before pressing again.
thanks!

My favorite bit from Children of Men is the little video vignette on the train, showing worldwide violence and burning cities. “The world has collapsed ... only Britain soldiers on.”

No, mine was Estoril Blue, which is more of a medium blue. Avus Blue is deeper and more saturated, also very nice.

At first I thought this was about California Forever, but no it’s about a different development. Amazing that they built this development out in the middle of nowhere, 10mi SW of Patterson, and that they thought they had enough water for a golf course. (Hint: they didn’t.) cc @danak6jq.bsky.social

Weekend musings: what I am most proud of is not the things I’ve built (or helped build) but learning that something I did or said had a meaningful impact on someone else’s way of thinking. I definitely did not see that coming when I started working some 25 years ago.
