Today I was chipping apple, oak, ash, red maple, poplar, and grey birch, and it ate them all no trouble just stuffing in entire limbs or small trees. I'd read online that it can be hard to get the feed to grab big limbs, but I had no trouble. My wife laughing at me:

Tried out my new woodchipper this afternoon. It's a Woodland Mills TF68, to be run by my '06 Kubota B3030. I expected the Kubota to be a bit underpowered for the chipper, but I only managed to lug the engine once with it, besides when I popped the sheer pin on the base of a 4" ash tree.

We Pressed ~14 gallons of cider with our friends today. I took 1.5 gallons to drink fresh. The rest is getting turned into hard cider. There are tons more apples at various friends' places, and a couple of our trees are still unpicked, but it's a lot of labor and we're done for today at least.

It went pretty well. I started with 2 small paddy pan squashes and half of one slightly larger one. I dried them for 4 hours at 135F. I lost a slightly higher proportion than I would've liked trying to get it back off the silicone mats, but not too bad. The vacuum sealing went great.

I'm using our dehydrator for the first time and drying some shredded patty pan squash from the store. I'll vacuum pack them in a jar when they finish.

My meshtastic bridge was supposed to be powered by Power Over Ethernet, but didn't work. Today I ripped a connector out of an old laptop and soldered it to a 2 watt 25 ohm resistor to add enough load so the POE injector would work. And poof! Then I mounted the node up on my shed.

I finished building my PV system today. The last step was to ground the panels. The supplied ground holes are half-way up the sides, so I drilled new holes and installed ground lugs at the bottom edge. The wire is bonded to the ground wire for the combiners (in turn bonded to the house EGC).

I wired up the emergency shutoff so we're all legit and safe with respect to emergency workers (it's 99% for fireman). I also wired the surge protection devices for lightning. I'm waiting for grounding panel lugs to arrive so I can properly ground out the solar panels to really finish up.
A "big red button" is mounted on an exterior wooden wall to the left of an electrical double meter box. There's a story behind why it's a double meter box that I'm happy to tell if anyone asks.

#3 on the list of achievable things we can do to reduce global warming. I know not everyone has the money for it or a house to put it on, obviously. If you do have a house the loan payments (if you can get one) still often come out lower than your power bill.

I turned my solar array on this morning. I have some more work to do to finish up the ground bonding, lightning protection, and emergency shutoff, but it's safe enough to operate now. We haven't used any grid power since I turned it on this morning, and our batteries are back at 100%.

Harvested some lemon balm this morning before the rain hit (after pulling a couple honeysuckle with the tractor, and transplanting a wild St. Johnswort). I'm drying some for tea, and making some tincture. I haven't really used it much, so this'll be fun to try out for things.

The tiniest chamomile harvest. Enough for a mug or two of tea. We planted it last year and I harvested the flowers to keep it from going to seed so it'd grow faster. I'd been letting this dry on a table in the basement, but replaced it today with fresh mullein leaves that need drying.

Planted a little orchard today. 2 red haven peach, 2 canadian harmony peach, 2 lapin cherry, 2 black chokeberry, and 2 hazelnut trees. 6 fruit trees "the orchard" are together in the lower field. We don't expect to harvest the hazelnut, those are for native diversity, and hopefully specimen trees.

Then I limped it home doing 25 with the flashers and Angie driving behind in the FJ. Not sure if the coilver was faulty or just old (and it is kind of old). The coil doesn't contact the A-arm at full droop. It's been making noise, but the mechanic and I thought it was the upper ball joint.
Photo taken by Angie as she followed me down the road heading home, you can see my flashers going. This is on the ~2 miles of paved road before we hit the ~3 mile of dirt road.

I couldn't turn sharply without it making terrible noises, so I hit the flashers and backed up a ways to a spot I could park by the side of the road. I caught a *little* cell service and messaged Angie, but she was busy digging a hole for the solar array we're building... so didn't answer.

I was going out to pick up concrete and distilled water (for solar mounting and the tractor, respectively, a stick caught the radiator hose). Anyway, I took the Tacoma and this happened just as I hit the main high-speed road. It was folded worse and pressing against the tire and brake hose.
A front coilover is bent at about 20 degrees, nearly touching the tire, the inner shock is clearly snapped/broken.I check that the wheel can spin after jacking up the truck by the frame allowing the front-right wheel to fully droop (almost, the sway bar is still attached, though I detached it to help get the coilover out)

When we installed our front door originally it sat around too long and warped. We tried to compensate but couldn't get the door-frame warped to match, so it's always leaked around the edge. Today we finally added screw-on seals, and it no longer feels cold standing inside in front of the door.

My FJ's been throwing codes about the secondary air injection valve on the left side. It's frozen shut before, but it wasn't resolving this time so I finally took it apart. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but that definitely looks broken. I have a new one on order so I can pass inspection.

Angie and I put up our solstice tree yesterday. It's kind of a tradition now that we make a wreath using the lower branches, and use it as a table centerpiece. The ring is yellow birch. We had to let it defrost inside for a couple of hours so it would bend, because it was near 0F out.
