The game intentionally doesn't make it easy to get everything. Good for you on being intrigued enough to do this! And yeah, I believe the comfort you felt is because we as humans are inherently more predisposed to a calm rural life with some physical activity involved. It's most mentally comforting.

This particular book I feel is most incredible, because they managed to predict the modern-day consumerist society of the first world, all the way back in 60s, from the USSR, where they were ridiculed back in the day for even thinking that a western state would have so much consumer good abundance.

I would strongly suggest a particular book: Final Circle of Paradise by Strugatsky. In fact I think Strugatsky are amazing social commentators, their works are universally applicable to any age, and it's a shame they're mostly known for just the science fiction elements in their books.

I mean, it's compact compared to a full-sized book lol. And I think it's good to read controversial and critical literature just to compare its points to your own, even if one doesn't fully agree with everything - there still often are interesting questions, observations and predictions

I do hold Orwell in high regards, it's painful how many people know the names of his works but never even opened them. Ted I think just puts a lot of those old ideas in a relatively compact, very accessible package - for people who sadly were never taught to love reading, it's just more accessible

Would it really? Popularity has benefits, but it also can be linked to negative consequences such as constantly feeling like you should meet the audience's expectations and keep them satisfied, even if it goes against your own comfort. Perhaps that's exactly a part of your current anxieties?
