Watching clips and reading stories of the Lincoln coming home really remind me what it's like to live in a military community, to love a Soldier, Sailor or Marine and from a distance, lose them. My heart breaks for what they're all going through right now.

I learned it in Colorado late 1970's to There's A Tavern in Town. I needed the reminder to access the sound memory. Weird and cool how different places seem to have made up their own tune.

I'm trying to get back into #knitting after almost 25 yrs off. My question now is about stitch & row counter options. I'm only familiar with the old plastic barrel types with number dials on either end. those aren't working well for me. Any suggestions on what to look for & to avoid as a newbie?

We also had the table set for us in the 90's with an appetizer that cost the US little at the time, in the first gulf war. It is so easy to look back and see how people (myself included) fell for the BS.

A long time ago. I fell in love & thought that Texas would be where we ended up when his military career was over. Like many military relationships it lasted only 5-7 yrs. I was devastated but also I'm not in Texas now so there's that. No shade those who are are still fighting and love Texas.

I remember being on base with my ex in the 90's we always picked up the Stars and Stripes so I could have the best accurate information that could be printed at the time. It is a shame that is no longer likely. Dirty tactics but they also not winning any friends there, if memory serves.

As someone who has known several folks with Down's Syndrome I do get the fear a doctor can put into soon-to-be or new parents. I also know there is an opportunity for a life well lived. Thanks for this read.

In other news, while going through my late grandma's belongings we have stumbled upon many sentimental treasures. For some of best have been a couple of fountain pens that are vintage. One was a work pen a labeled as property of bell system. So much fun for a beginner collector.
