Welp, it finally happened. I started #OnePiece. Episode 1 was good but then in episode 2 I heard the voice of Christopher Sabat. So like, yeah. I'm in. I was always hesitant because of how many episodes there are, but this is honestly because I saw the awesome TCG cards. 😅

It has been exactly 1 month. August 11th we lost our home due to severe weather throwing a tree through our roof. Today, we just signed a lease at a new place and officially have a new home. I'm grateful my sister allowed us to stay with her through this. Now we slowly fill out our new home.

I never intended to buy a Switch 2, but with the Zelda OOT remake and now Metroid Ravenous, I just might have to once I'm in a position to make such a purchase. ZOOT looks gorgeous and "Metroid is a girl" is pretty accurate at this point.

Been playing some #Pokémon Violet (because robots > dinosaurs) and really enjoying it so far. These newer gens seem to have removed most of the level grind though, which upon further research is a good thing since THERE ARE 400 POKÉMON IN THE BASE DEX! 😅

Last Tuesday we lost our home. Displaced from a tree going through the roof in a storm. Last night I lost all of my computers and tech stuff because someone kicked in the back door and stole it all. When it rains it pours. I keep telling myself it could be worse but I feel like I have nothing now.

Power restoration estimate for the area got extended to the 25th earlier today. Not that it matters for my situation with no home to go back to. The hunt officially begins tomorrow since landlord and insurance are lollygagging and pops may have finally let go of the thought we'd go back there.

Cool. I forgot how crazy navigation can be in a Metroid game. Currently stuck going between upper Ferenia and Ghavoran after defeating Escue with no grav suit or screw attack. plasma/diffusion/grapple ice/storm missile cloak/flash/radar varia morph/bomb spider/speed/space SCAN EVERYTHING TIME!

Day 6 no home no power. My body has slowly grown accustomed to activity again. Back and hips don't hurt nearly as much as days 1-4 but definitely still noticeable pain in lower left back. Oh and my feet hurt like hell. When do I get to go back to being a lazy game dev & streamer?

Our house is uninhabitable. Roof trusses are shattered. We're at my sister's for the moment but not sure what's going to happen. I'll check in when I can. Moreso once reliable power. Advisory has already been put out to avoid Lake, Porter, and Laporte counties. Historic event per power company.

Practicing #pixelart by trying to recreate some of my favorite classics. Here's #MegaMan from the power up screen and #Samus from #MetroidFusion. These took me a couple hours in #aseprite because I'm slow and terrible. I would NOT want to animate that Samus sprite. HO-LY!

About 10 or so days ago I started getting robo-calls again. This hasn't happened to me in quite some time and it has escalated. Starting at 8am sharp I now get a call every 28-32 minutes until about 6pm. Some repeat numbers I've been able to block but there are a lot. I ponder the cause.

As I grow older I've developed allergies. Some days aren't too bad, but days like today I feel like my head is being compressed in a vise and someone is repeatedly smashing me with a baseball bat right between the eyes, all while my skin is a burning bonfire. TLDR; looking for a body transplant.
