Unsealed Lands tarot series; Judgement #art #tarot #ocsky #melinoe #ocs

My character Melinoë in the Otherworld holding her sword upright with two hands, blade pointed downward. She's lit on the right side by a bright blue crescent moon. Her eyes are glowing orange and yellow.

So with a wonder and a wild desire I will crawl from under every weight -[♫]

Digital illustration on horizontal canvas
Theme: Fantasy / Dark fantasy / Experimental
Character: My OC Lubi, he/him, transmasc
#Artsky #QueerArt #TransArt #DarkFantasy #SwordAndSorcery

This is a digital piece, using a lot of collaging for texture and background elements.

It features an armoured character with fire hair and a sword gazing towards a black spired castle being struck by lighting, backed by a rainbow. The ground is dark, as are the clouds above, but the central section shows a blue and pink sky, reflecting in the puddle of water in the foreground. A line of four tall trees leads to the right of the castle, and two black birds are accompanying the character.

Right of the lighting is a series of black stars/sparkles in a distinct pattern. The pattern is based on Braille, spelling "Fix your heart or die".

The initial background was lifted from a scene in Excalibur (1981) and re-textured with my own photographs. The armour was also copied from a different scene in the movie and outlined fully with lasso tool. Specifically, I turned to Excalibur for the extreme shininess of armours in it.
The background also uses one of my photographs, mostly smudged with a little bit of a treeline seen in the distance. The fire hair, birds, trees, castle and lightning were all freehanded with lasso tool, giving them a rough shape.

Was gifted some cute food props and a beautiful CW palpatine by a close friend recently and, well, I'm a girl that likes to give her dolls tea parties I suppose...

a goodly knight and his squires (bug and squid are OBSESSED with boba and follow him wherever he goes; it's now a running joke that they are his squires)

a brown rat knight smiles between his two squires who are at either side. he holds his sword at the hilt as the blade balances face down, point on the ground. the left squire wears a simple tunic, holding the knights helmet in his hands as he looks up apprehensively. the right squire is holding up the knights cape and smiling confidently at the viewer.

Awful thing. Painful to dropkick

A short, eyeless and purple biomechanical creature. It is covered in blades, like a spikey meatball

Finished a lineup of my characters for my comic project. I don't get a lot of time to work on personal projects these days but I have a writer on board to help me out now so maybe I can finally get some pages out this year

Fun fact; when the Gloryhammer album Return to the Kingdom of Fife was in development (2022) I designed and helped source Ralathor's costume for that album run because I had drawn ungodly amounts of Ralathor fanart years prior. I got to design wizard drip irl
