Meet The Artist 2026, because i'm too anti-social to just say 'hi.' to a MF X'D

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

I know the next Friday the 13th is a few months away, but i wanted to upload this anyway. I have a soft spot for hillbilly jason XD

I think they might be 'P.F. Flyers', specifically the 'Grounder Hi' style, they've been around since the 40s

It's crazy how i'm halfway through animating this ROTTMNT Video and i just noticed with the way i designed splinter with the shadow cast over his face, he kinda looks like a racoon 😅

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 23/11/2025

i have a very complicated and kinda toxic relationship with steaks because even though I'm fascinated with the different textures by temperature and techniques for all the different cuts of that damn cow, i can't say i like it even when i cook it "perfectly". 😭 i think I'll just stick to burgers.

it's worse when the thing gets cancelled and you get blamed for not watching it

010

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 29/10/2025

Wouldn't it be funny if murder family got a tv series or movie instead? I always liked that comic just as much as eltingville XD

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 23/10/2025

Is it still procrastination if the thing you were supposed to be doing was so overwhelming and disorienting that you had to step away from it to clear your head? Maybe even take a nap?

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 15/10/2025

I took a break from animating to doodle Spidey's love interests. The Red head is obviously Mary Jane, but the Green haired girl is actually Betty Brant XD i went extra wild with her design #Spider-Man #MaryJane #BettyBrant #Doodles #WIP #conceptart #comics #digitalart #redesign #illustration

Okay, Peter calling MJ 'Gwendy' after catching her almost made me tear up, i'm glad Andrew Garfield got to adapt this scene

000

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 05/10/2025

welp, i finally made it to the death of Gwen Stacy and Green Goblin respectively, and to be completely honest... I'm not gonna miss Gwen. I always heard her character in the comics was more bland compared to her adaptions and i honestly agree. so now it's MJ's time to shine.

010

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 04/10/2025

i love how in the old Spider-Man comics, Peter's Spider-sense did way more than just sense immediate danger, it was almost like daredevils radar

010

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 04/10/2025

I love betty brant. 100+ issues into 'the Amazing Spider-Man' and i still like her a bit more than Gwen and MJ. Even though her and peter barely talk to each other anymore and are ancient history at this point, she still feels compelled to let him know she cares.

i stumbled onto Kevin Eastman's blog that had a lot of art with the TMNT interacting with other comic characters. I loved the one with Raph and Electra so much i had to redraw it. XD #art #digitalart #TMNT #fanart #illustration #pinup #redraw #redesign #Daredevil #electra #marvel #comicart

experimented with my own interpretations of the TMNT awhile back and i really wanted to toy with all of them having the same color bandanas like in the OG Comics, but different body shapes to distinguish them. #TMNT #comics #art #digitalart #fanart #comicart #illustration #coneptart #redesign #WIP

Have you ever heard of 'Man Bites Dog' Or 'Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon'? They're both very similar with camera crews following a killer around for their documentary.

It's working on me already, I go walking in relatively empty forest areas and ironically I feel less lonely than when I'm online 🙃

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 20/09/2025

now that I think about it, another advantage bluesky has over Twitter is that you don't have to deal with it refreshing before you can favorite a piece of artwork. 🙏

as much as i loved toei sonics quills for what it did for his silhouette, i'll always have a soft spot for his mohawk he had in the 90s #sonic #sonicboom #sonicova #sonithehedgehog #sonicsatam #adventuresofsonithehedgehog #fleetway #fleetwaysonic #amyrose #mohawk

did some fanart or the new looney tunes movie awhile ago since i liked it, i even did a speedpaint review for it but it didn't do too well on youtube.

i'm doing a ROTTMNT Fan Animation and i'm gonna share snippets of the concept art i've got on my patreon since i normally don't upload here. now that i think about it, i got some other finished artwork i can upload

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 20/09/2025

i've had this patreon or awhile but i'm just now letting people on bluesky know about it, and since i haven't used it in awhile, i'll post some behind the scenes stuff just so people can give people an idea of what i'm doing. patreon.com/SlickJay905?...

i really need to put in more effort towards using this site more because this past week, twitter has been even more of a headache...

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 30/05/2025

i didn't even need to talk, my teacher would just see me staring of into space and say "get out of lala land, Mister" she even thumped me on the head with her long fake nails 😑

that's actually the thing i love about studying kim's style of perspective, even when you're thinking he might not have used any perspective at all, you keep on looking and you're just like "WAAAAIIIIIT A MINUTE! YOU SLY DOG!"

000

Slick Jay_eXDee @slickjayxd.bsky.social · 02/11/2023

Not sure this counts as a study, but whenever i try learning perspective, i like to look at kim jung gi sketches and figure out where on the five point perspective grid he drew it. i'm pretty sure he drew it somewhere near the center with this one, maybe a bit towards the right?

first impressions are everything, so here's a little something to know about me... i desperately want to see this scene from the OG TMNT comics to get adapted into a movie, or show.
